Didn't allow enough time to plan and there are a few too many events around the same few weekends. I will make sure my next trip planned is better managed! Sorry guys.

My past experiences:
The drive is pretty nice up the 395 towards Big Pine, then it heads east into the valley.
Eureka Dunes Dry Camp is located at 37.111237, -117.680773. It's about 7-8 hrs from San Diego.
There is a $20 vehicle entrance fee to get into the park. I am not 100% sure that there is a checkpoint coming in from the east. It is set up similar to Joshua Tree where you pay at the booths by the campgrounds, but there are multiple other ways into the park
There are "camp sites" at Eureka Dunes. They are first come, first serve and fires are only permitted in their fire rings so that could be a problem as well. We definitely need a fire with temperatures dropping down below 50...
I am planning on driving up to Big Pine or Lone Pine (Alabama Hills) on Friday to stay the night and then we can start driving into the park Saturday morning!
