Hi all, the wife and I took possession 4 weeks ago of a 2013 Cayenne Red MT Pro-4x. This is going to be our retirement vehicle I think. I come from a very lazy jeep background and wanted another but she was adamant about having a more 'practical' vehicle. Thank god for her hard-nosedness; I LOVE this truck. We are mostly interested in trail rides looking at geology, ghost towns, historical areas, and ruins.
I've got shrock sliders and a dephep rack on order and will probably add a full set of skids. After that it's just making sure I have the proper recovery/safety gear and whatnot.
So far our Sunday drives have been to Dos Cabezas siding via Mortero Wash, Fish Creek Wash just shy of Sandstone Canyon, and Sacatone Overlook in the McCain Valley. Our real inaugural, I'm hoping, will be a 3-day run of the Mojave Road with my brother-in-law in the September timeframe (but probably more like March given my current schedule).
We're hoping to tag along on some of the club excursions and are already enjoying reading the trip reports and mod threads.
See you out on the trail.
