Hey folks!
Just wanted to make it known to those of you who have/use Facebook that there is a group called Southern California Off Road Recovery page as well as an SOS section of this group. This group is pretty awesome. It is a collection of guys and gals who are able and willing to help each other out when it comes to recovering stuck vehicles and advice. The group has two pages, the first is the SCOR page which is just off road related posts, the second is SCOR SOS page where you can pin your location and have many member willing to come help tow, dig, or push your stuck vehicle out, almost no matter where you are. I have seen members willing to drive hours to help others out and most of them do it for no charge. I wanted to pass this on here since I am not friends with any of you on FB. I really like what the group is about. no bs. no politics. just help. go add yourselves to both pages if it is something that may interest you.

Just ignore the posts about illegal and non-tread lightly compliant wheeling and it's a pretty good page. There have been a lot of good recoveries because of this page.

I'm interested in the whole idea and even volunteering to help when and where I could. Only issue is I do not and won't sign up for any of those social media sites. Any other ways to get involved in this beside the facebook type stuff?

Dude, just sign up. Set up your privacy settings and you'll only be involved with the things you want. From news to weather to groups like the above.
   Just try it and before you know it, you'll be a FB whore. There are so many groups that focus on camping, trails, wheeling, overlanding....what ever your into....and they exist only on FB.

I dunno man, I heard as soon as you join something like that the gubment puts a monitoring meter on your computer for Uncle Ho to keep track of you. Not only that, what does this whole face in a book really mean anyway? I'm not sure I want to have to update my status several times a day saying, I'm drinking coffee or I'm thinking about nothing. Then there is the issue of I'm not going to be friends with you anymore deal and they go jump off a bridge because I was cyber bullying some person from Umgawambmbwmbbe or some such. All these pitfalls, scary scary scary.
