Well the lad is of driving age so I decided to get him his first vehicle. Found a good deal on this 1969 CJ-5, has dual fuel tanks, Chevy V-8, Power steering, oversize radiator and electric fan so it's rigged for the desert. He's super stoked. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

In a way I already did. He had no idea we were bringing it home. When we got, home I called him outside to give me a hand. As he rounded the corner there it was and I told him it was his. He gave me a hug and wouldn't let go, I'm a happy Dad.

Yes, there isn't a whole lot of difference between the two. I love those old Jeeps. Frame, motor, driveline and wheels with some wires.

Funny you mention that, the boy wanted to paint his OD green. Maybe he can get some pointers on one of the upcoming runs from you on what he needs to do.

As of now he will probably be wheeling CANVAS and the Winter version of the Mojave Rd.

Yeah, but a great place to get him good and broken into his Jeep.

I don't know about the adoption though because I can barely keep this one in groceries as it is.
