Hello SCCX,
I know you haven't seen me in a few years, but back in the earliest days of SCCX I was a very active member... and now, I'm baaaack!
I have a 2000 SE 4x4 with a million miles on it.... Last night on the way home from Mammoth my engine died. I think it might be a timing belt, or (hopefully) a fuel pump. Luckily I have AAA+ so they were able to tow me from Lancaster all the way home to Sherman Oaks. I had them drop my Xterra in front of a couple repair shops (Karsten Imports/Gomora Auto Service) there near the corner of Burbank/Fulton. Both those shops have good Yelp reviews, but I'm wondering if any of you have any recommendations for a repair shop in the valley that does good honest work.
I appreciate any/all recommendations... I'm going to have to figure this out at some point today....
Thanks,
Kampy

No personal rec, but maybe try calling a few machine shops in the area to see if they have a good shop to recommend. Does AAA have a list reputable shops?
Welcome back.

Kampy! I remember you and your yellow X a few years ago at Calico!
I know a guy but he's all the way down here in SD.
Hope all goes well with the X and good to hear from you.
