Title: Mud is Fun
Post by: Paul on January 23, 2010, 07:21:02 PM
There's a local horse park near me with some open country. I get out there every year following the rains to run through the mud - the ruts fill with water and help the wild life out there. Lots of quail and other birds. Noon insisted that we play in the mud some. I played for about 10 minutes and spent 20 cleaning. In one pass I wanted to see how slow I could go ... and came really close to getting stuck! Mud tires or not after ten or fifteen passes the place was turning into a mess. On the way out some guy in a pick up was entering the area ... wonder if he attempted the run.

Note the corners of some of the shot and you'd find mud 30 feet in the air.

I removed the pictures because the people at TheNewX have a ban on mud pictures.

Must not have BLM property out there.

I thought mudding was only bad when you were on a trail and doing so contributed to a loss of a shelf road, not open land........
some people worry too much about political correctness (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/sturndog/IMG_0214.jpg?t=1265524493)

I'm boycotting TheNewX.

Any photo may be removed by the moderation group for any reason and the admin/mod's have final say. Examples of photos that may be removed;

...b. Photos showing damage to the environment or structures.
.......4. Refrain from showing vehicles in excessive water or mud.

...d. Any other reason we see fit.

It seems a bit extreme but it their/his/her site so whatever.  They should quantify "excessive" water or mud.  I'm surprised they didn't throw in firearms, pretty people, canibals, Sarah Palin... and any other thing they see fit.

My question is, why did you delete them from this site?  As an offroader and productive member of society, I saw nothing wrong with your pictures.  If you would like to repost them here, go right ahead.
