Hey Guys I've been doing some interwebbing and I can only find info from 2010, I gather nothing has really changed on the X in 3 years (mine is 2013)
My Brake and Battery lights are on full time , I've read that it could be:
A. Dirty Alt (soda lake)
B. My Alt is ready to go out (hopefully not)
I'm going to give it an engine wash, She is really dirty under the bonnet
Has anyone else experienced this or know anything?

So after testing the Alt. my next question is?
How hard is it to replace or rebuild (which option is better)

Not terribly difficult...Randy and I replaced his at the trail head for 2N02 in about 90 minutes when his went down a couple of years ago.
Here's a pretty good video on the topic:

I'd avoid rebuilding yourself. Rebuilding alternators usually requires some specialized equipment to rewind them, and every home or shop rebuilt one (not professionally done) I've ever had experience with only got about 25% of the life of the original one. Just my personal experience.

I would be happy to help you with the install during the week Jay. Just pick a day. We might even get Celt to show up.
