-
Will there be an award party? SPEECH SPEECH SPEECH SPEECH!!!!!
-
You know what I got for winning TOTY?!!?!?!?
A P0430 code!!! And, my registration with smog cert is due on 2/8. :'(
-
Maybe it will just go away. Mine threw that code a couple weeks ago. After a few days of normal driving it just went away, or my light went out! Lol. It hasn’t been back.
-
Yep, clear it, rerun it and see if it comes back
-
Get a Magnaflow from O'Reilly for about $350. Dealer wants $800 for the factory one. Make sure you get the new O2 sensor also. I didn't and I had to order one this weekend. I'm 60 days past due on my smog cert. Pay your fees to stay current until the parts come in.

Twas a no go. Check engine came back with P0430.
I was all excited. When I left work tonight, the light was off because I had cleared it earlier. Emissions Readiness was complete and everything.
But, it came back within about 7 miles. Wah wah

Woody, any additional info on the cat and o2 censor?
Which o2 sensor did you go with? Prices are kind of all over the place.
-
I ended up paying for the Denso. I hope to install it tonight. I'll let you know of that solves the problem.
-
Congrats Steve.
-
Honestly I would not go with any aftermarket cat, they have terrible reviews from people saying that they do not last. OEM is worth the cost IMO.
-
Congrats.

Congrats, Steve! Well deserved. Awesome picture of your well set-up rig! O0

Thanks everyone!
Tim, any developments in your saga?

Unfortunately after replaceing the bank 2 cat (P0430) and O2 sensor I got the P0420 code and a P1283 code. SO I've now orderd a new Bank 1 cat and )2 sensor and did a thurough cleaning of the MAP sensor. I'm in Kansas City for a few days so I have my son driving the truck to see if the codes reappear. Next weekend will be spent replacing the cat, O2 sensor and the front brakes. I'm so lucky!

Run a bottle of Seafoam in there and she if it clears things up.
-
That's a bummer, Tim!
I have mixed news. More good than bad.
Over the weekend, I drove down to Jordan's house for some truck fiddlin'.
We (Jordan) decided to start simple. Originally, I had a P0101, MAF, code. That then went away and I got the P0430.
We added some silicone to the gasket where the MAF seals to the intake tube.
I drove back to Orange County from San Diego with NO engine codes! WOOOO.
First thing this morning, I headed over to the smog place and PASSED!!!!!!!!
1.5 miles later, I got the P0101 fault code. So, now I have two years to figure that one out.
