Good looking out, Jayrat.
I'll see you guys there.
Need to figure out how to make my pew pew "compliant" before this.
-
Also, I'm not camping in the north 40 this year.
-
I registered just in case I don't get on the the Rogue Overland trip.
-
I just registered.
-
Thanks Jayrat, I'm in.
-
I'm in too.
-
It just so happens my annual family desert trip is that exact same weekend, so we'll be in Ocotillo Wells. If it's Rendezvous is close, we'll stop in to say hi!
-
Someone actually donated for me. Major props!!! will be hooking this guy up!! Im in!!
-
DRV is always held around the same spot, at the end of split mountain rd where alot of people like to shoot. There is always a cleanup on saturday where we pick up after all the messy shooters and haul a couple tons of trash.
-
DRV filled up today!
I just gonna crash Scuba Dale's family bash >:D
Snooze ya loose.
-
I'm giving up my spot. I'll be heading out with the NV guys to Death Valley. Enjoy.
-
Funny the shift that occurs. I gave up my spot on the Rogue Overland trip so you got that spot. We'll see who can squeeze into your Desert Rendezvous spot.
-
Hey Tim, I would like to take your spot, if it's still available.
-
They have a waitlist but it currently only has one person on it so I would jump in cause more than 1 person is going to cancel guaranteed
-
I was wondering if we are setting up our usual camping compound in the same general area this year?

Same compound, not in the north 40.
No reason to be that far away from the main fire pit. Especially with all of the planned activities.

Hey, hey, hey, easy now let's not jump the gun and get too social here.
:o

So what are the comm plans for this trip? Want to make sure I can hit you guys up when I come to visit while we're in OW.
-
146.535 is the default 2m freq we use. There will be trail runs this year so some may be out doing that, looks like Celt will be leading a trail on Saturday thru the Squeeze.
If you go south on Split mountain Rd to the end, and head left and follow the rail road tracks you can't miss the event, to find us all you need to do is spot the xterras, we are the only ones :D

Ok cool...wasn't sure if we were using a different simplex since there will be other groups out there that may be using the same. See everyone out there!

147.1500 147.7500 + 107.2 works really good all over the area. I normally monitor that when I'm at camp down in Anza or Ocotillo. Otherwise like Knightrider said, 146.535 is what we all monitor while driving around.
-
assuming we all going to stick together for those who are going? Cuz I rather do just a FYI. :-*

Also, it won't be that far for Steve to find his way back to camp in the middle of the night and fire up the scottle to make pizza!

If you are asking about all of camping together we normally do at these events.

When is everyone planning to show up?
Thursday, Friday?
-
Friday morning
-
Thanks JT3, I just checked, and 2 more guys dropped out.
Alas, we have already made other (less fun) plans.
Take pictures, and get the key BEFORE you put any beer in Celt's fridge >:D
-
I will be there with an open and cold fridge to keep anyones warm beer niccce and cold on Thursday. Since it looks like we will probably be camping in close proximity to each other please bring as much firewood as possible. I'm going to bring at least 5 bundles and try to "Borrow" some oak from a known pile. With any luck I will "Find" some Manzanita too.
-
I'm heading out on Thursday with Celt. Finally able to crawl out from under the rental renovation I've been working on for the last two months.
-
So Dave signed up and paid up but is not nat able to attend. Does anyone on herewant to take his place?
-
Vehicle is almost all packed. Just need to get out of work so I can pick up the dog and a few last items. I am taking the ShiftPod and camo netting, like last year. I am also bringing better poles for the netting, so it doesn't look like the munchkin militia! I will try to park within a quarter-mile of the center of camp, so Steve's wings don't get tired when he is social-butterflying. lol
