Just passing along that there is a Shrockworks group buy in the early stages. It is being coordinated by a member over on Clubfrontier.org, but there is also now a thread started on thenewx.org which is being monitored and updated by the GB coordinator (looks like people who aren't already registered on clubfrontier will have a hard time posting in the GB thread with a new account, per the TNX thread). Looks like the discount will be 15% if they can get up to 20 orders for Nissan product (they've got quite a few already).

Note - I am in no way affiliated with this group buy, just passing along the info in case anyone is interested. If you aren't already familiar, I'd encourage you to read up on the delays with Shrockworks orders, so you know what to expect once you place an order. In the past with similar group buys, Shrockworks will knock out production in batches after the GB is complete, but some people have still waited 8 or 9 months for arrival of their orders.

What's the group by for?
-
after reading the thread...
Some details that I have so far.
I've been given the go ahead by Shrockworks for a group buy on Nissan products. We need 20 Nissan products for a 15% discount. I'm up to 15 products so a few more to go.
Product = Bumper, slider set, set of 3 skids
-
Exactly. My understanding is it will encompass all Nissan products made by Shrockworks. Sliders, Front Bumpers, Rear bumpers (with or without tire carrier), skid plates, rear diff cover, etc. If you have something in mind, I'd reach out via the thread on the other forum and be sure it'll be included (for example, the diff covers are an item that shrockworks typically keeps in-stock on the shelves, and may not be part of the GB since it's already produced).
Here's their website for Nissan products: http://shrockworks.com/Nissan

Really?
I'm almost done with my build I need a bumper with winch if someone is upgrading or selling a bumper capable for a winch I call dibs if price isn't bad. >:D >:D
-
I don't think this GB will have people selling winch-capable (aftermarket) bumpers. Not everyone changes from one aftermarket bumper to another, like my dumb@$$. :o It wouldn't be too uncommon for someone to upgrade to a full bumper from one of those hidden winch mounts (like the RockyMtnX one, or the new one made by PRG), but there aren't many people around our neck of the woods running those anyway so it's unlikely there would be one to buy as a result of this GB. I can only think of one So Cal Xterra Guy (Sage Bromax) running one, and I don't think he's planning to run a full replacement bumper.
Your best bet would be to order a new bumper with this GB and save the 15%, or just (very patiently) keep an eye on the for sale threads of various forums until something comes up. As you've likely already discovered, aftermarket bumpers don't go on the resale market very often. :-\

I am happy with my stealth mode setup and will not be up-sizing any time soon, if ever. 8)

Wonder if they would honor the discount if I ordered one approximately a month ago???
This is the type of stuff that get's GB's a bad name...and makes fabricator's go grey.
But, someone will ask, he will get denied, or they will scramble to accommodate...or he'll get denied and cancel/then re-order with the group buy...no wonder it takes 9 months to get a bumper from Shrock. :D
-
Exactly. It does suck to be that guy who recently placed an order only to find out that everyone who didn't order yet now gets a discount for it. But the flip side is that the incentive for the vendor to do a GB is to generate interest that wouldn't otherwise be there. I'm kind of on the fence about this one. If I were the business owner, I would certainly honor it if someone asked. But as a customer, I don't even think I would ask.

I wonder if Shrock is trying to liquidate anything they have in stock since the X has been discontinued? Maybe that's far fetched since most stuff will interchange with the Frontier but just a guess?
-
Just an update - the group buy is now active, and is only good for a few days. Shrockworks is handling all of the orders themselves. Simply order on their website, and use code: NGB2017
The code will be good until 11:59 pm Monday night (not sure if that's EST, CST, or PST) :)

shrock is east coast so more than likely EST

Did they move? Last time I bought from them they were in Texas.
-
I stand corrected. For some reason I always thought they were in NC
-
In the case of most web businesses, it typically has to do with where the web platform is operated from rather than where the business is actually located. With Sony, for example, we are headquartered in San Diego, but the company that manages our online platform is on the east coast, so our new fiscal/calendar day starts at midnight EST.
I'm not sure who Shrockworks uses to host their site and drive their e-commerce operations, but if you're planning to buy something with this coupon code at the last minute, I would operate under the assumption that it will no longer work at 9:00 pm PST on Monday evening. If you get an hour or two or three afterward, it'll be a bonus. :P
