Hey guys, SteveC and Jordan showed me how to use my new camera with my old spotting scope. So I tried it out on this Lucky Squirrel video.
PS: The camera has a microphone, who woulda thunk?!
102 yards

After the vid is done, you can click on the screen for the Unlucky Squirrel @ 88 yds.

Yes, that looks like fun! He's dancin'!

I fully support 2A agendas...but draw the line at the senseless killing of animals. Just my opinion.
You can test accuracy just as easily on steel or paper IMO.
Hopefully you ate the squirrel...

They're disease carrying rodents.

John, I always value your opinion. And the senseless killing of anything is wrong.
Most Farmers and growers agree that ground squirrels are horrible pests that need to be killed. A bullet kills them faster and more humanely than poison, starvation or being eaten by a coyote. They are a pest, like ants, that will never go extinct . Having said that, I do enjoy the sport of the hunt, and I know, and respect that you don't. I purposely posted only the 'Lucky' squirrel for those who might be offended by killing. And offered the side note to those who are not.
I know that you support the 2nd amendment as well as the 1st. That is why I always respect your opinions, even when we disagree.
And that is what makes being an American so great.

First...apologize for my debatably over sensitive reaction.
"Senseless" killing was an overstatement...and after reading your post, agree with the humane assessment of the situation.
Christ...I worked at Home Depot in what folks affectionately referred to as the "killing" aisle where all the poison in the world could be procured, WITH NO 10 DAY WAITING PERIOD.
I won't delete my words...but do modify my opinion of the posted video.
Thanks guys.

No worries John.
Killing animals will always be, and should be a sensitive issue. I trusted the folks on this site to,at least, see my side of it, if not fully enjoy my video. Thanks for your open thoughts and communication.
Now, about you using the Lords name in vain.... :D

No E-ticket ride............... dangit. In all truth that's what I really like about this not-a-club is we may have differences of opinion but were willing to come to a solution or at least respect with a high regard each others opinions. I can't say that for other groups or even friends. This is a solid place to be with a solid group of guys.

I would like to know exactly what you hunt in CA...Coming from a fellow Hunter from the east coast...

We got nothing compared to the East coast. And only about half as much as northern Cal. Mostly varmints: squirrel, rabbit and coyote. For game we have some Mule Deer and less Fox and Bobcat. We have some game birds, but I don't know much about that. No pigs, the government kills them for us. The Mountain Lion is protected in this state. Lead ammo is banned in most areas so check the regs. When your ready to go stomping around, let me know.
-
lead ammo is banned for all hunting in CA FYI.
-
"According to the department’s website, the state limited the use of lead projectiles in 2008 and then state lawmakers passed a law in October 2013 to eliminate the use of lead ammo for hunting anywhere in the state by July 1, 2019. The three-part plan was determined to be the least disruptive for hunters."
Right now, you can't use lead in Condor areas, any bird hunting or big horn sheep and some other crap.. The final phase of the ban will go into effect in 2019 when lead will be banned for all hunting.
