I was actually just going to post this here.. you beat me to it! lol
This is a more laid back meet.
The tentative plan is to have a run for those that want to run up clawhammer on Friday. while others arrive at camp.
Then on Saturday have multiple runs go up rattlesnake canyon into Big Bear, then split to do different trails and meet back at camp for a campfire on the lakebed in Johnson Valley.
For the more
Camp will ideally be set up in a circle covered wagon style around a large community campfire.
Everyone is on their own for meals this year.
Also, if you can, please bring some fire wood to pitch in to the campfire.
-
So technically if one doesnt want to hit the trails and just wants to go camp for 1-2 days, its perfectly fine, correct?
-
absolutely

Yeah They knew whats dates I had before they made theirs public.. so I'm not sure why they decided to keep it at the same time.
But hey if you can't make one or the other this year... there is next year.

It was kept the same because it has been around or about the middle weekend in October for the past 6 years and its a date that worked for a majority of the attendees typically. We would have liked to combine the 2 events, but like you said if you don't make it this year there is always next.

Johnson Valley is an awesome place! Let's just hope it don't get too windy though. I remember one time back in the olden days, my buddy and I went out there (been out several times) and wow, would blow every direction, then get eerily quiet, then bam, more sand blasting on the rig :D Fun trip, nonetheless.
I'll have to look into this; thanks for heads up on this.

Lets get a roll call going.

I'd like to go, but my wife would have to take Saturday off. Maybe we could head out Saturday afternoon when she is off work.
-
I'm still planning on going, but this will be my first trip in ~12 years, so will stick to the milder stuff. Bet it's like riding a bicycle though and by the end of the trail, will want to do those crazy (to the non-wheeler) challenges, aka more mod$.
