Well, it's official, everything is on order, in shipping, or is already here. I will have my axles and struts assemblies (going an experimental Toyota Tundra/Tacoma route with this, as posted by Chris over on CF and TNX) together prior, so this should be a pretty straight-forward affair, not much different than just throwing a normal lift and UCAs on. The truck is still fairly new, as I was able to remove it from North Dakota before seeing a winter up there. I installed cam bolts about 10K miles ago and used anti-seize on them, so they should be good to go.
With all to that being said, I think I would be able to knock this all out in about a day by myself at the auto hobby shop, but I would love to get SCCX involved and shorten the process. It would also be nice to have someone along that has been through the process, to make any suggestions or provide input should anything come up.
I wouldn't mind traveling down to you all for the help, but I would most likely need to get the thing aligned before driving all the way back up here. That would mean, a) getting it done really quickly in the AM, then hitting an alignment shop in the afternoon or b) banging it out one day, spending the night down there, and hitting up a shop the next day. I'll throw another option out there, too, we can do it at my place (or the Auto Hobby shop, but I would have to sign you all onto base), I can fire up the grill that night, and we can turn it into a party up here. I will also have one bed available, a futon, and a couch should anyone want to stay the night.
I'll be pretty much out of town starting next Monday, through the 11th of August, so I'd be looking to do this sometime towards the end of August. We can also put out the call for those couple of guys that still need to get their snorkel and suspension installed. Let me know what you think.

Sounds like a party. I got front and rear shocks, ucas cam bolts and rear leafs to do. Plus snorkel and an alliagnment. My tires have gone to shit
-
I'd make every effort to be there. I'm not a T-swap expert and haven't been through the process myself, but I'd love to observe/learn, and lend a hand turning wrenches or lifting/holding stuff. :) Won't know for sure until you decide on a date though. But count me in, pending any other obligations.
-
I'd be down to come assist as well, just all depends on what day it falls on (and distance, as I might have to bring my daughter (1 year old) along). :)
-
Your welcome here if you need it.
-
Okay, as soon as I actually have everything, I'll firm up the date. Danny, do you have the space to work on a couple trucks if other people show up for work, or do you want to keep this a one truck show?

I would interested in lending a hand.

Awesome, thanks. I'm just working on firming up dates and location, then I'll start an official thread.

I would love to help, especially if it's at Danny's place. I've spent the last 3 out of 5 weeks in Palmdale and have to go for another short stay in two weeks :'(, so the thought of jumping back into the frying pan isn't all that appealing. Either way since I've been there and done that with the swap, I am more than happy to lend a hand, mostly using that hand the offer another beer to whomever is there. :D
-
if it's on a weekend and the stars align I'll bring the blue gloves and try to look helpful again
-
Any help would be appreciated. 😀

Congrats on pulling the trigger on the swap! I just finished mine... I also opted for the tundra strut. The one problem I had was that the springs that came on the tundra strut were WAY too stiff and stood my stock weight x on its tippy toes (uca's pinned to the coil bucket). So I opted to stick my stock springs on the tundra strut assembly (fits just fine), it still gave me about 3.5" of lift and a nice soft ride. Plus I got em on Amazon for $150 for the set so... What the hell might as well!! ;)

In went with the shorter Tacoma springs. They're heavier than stock, shorter than the Tundra springs but a little softer. We'll see how it works. I also have price inquiries out for the custom top hats.

Did i miss the party? I have radflo coils, prg uca, ubolt flip, AAL, and new shocks to put on and will definitely need some help and guidance from people who have done this before. I can bring lots of beer/drinks/pizza/burritos/etc.

Looks like a potential MOD day is in the planning stages on this thread: So I need help! What spot light do I shine in the sky? (http://www.sccxterra.com/smf/index.php?topic=4000.0)

Didn't miss the party, I just decided to switch gears on this and keep it low key. Check out the link PR posted and you should be able to find some info.
