Title: Big Bear/John Bull
Post by: Celt on May 08, 2016, 11:24:26 AM
I need to get outta Dodge and into some quiet. Anyone interested in going to Big Bear on (Friday) 5/13/16, finding a yellow post campsite then run John Bull maybe another one, time depending on (Saturday) 5/14/16 then head back to camp then head home on (Sunday) 5/15/16?

Some minimums to think about, skids, sliders, rear locker (front highly suggested) and at least 33s. I've run this before on 33's but 35's are certainly preferred since the gate keeper has been "Modified" and the waterfall can be a mess.

Hey Eric, sounds like fun. Too bad I have a lot going on next weekend.

You might want to post rig requirements if you want to hit John Bull. We have a lot of new folks that are itching to get their rigs dirty that may not be ready for it.

Too bad you can't go, I was hoping you would be one of the guys who could. Should something change let me know, I can be loaded and out of the house in about an hour. You are absolutely right in posting that I should put in some requirements. My bad oversight!

I'll let you know if things free up. I'd love to get back out there with you. No worries on the oversight. We look out for each other both on the trail and off.  ;)

I think for this trip I'll take one of my SFA's just because I can...

I'd be glad to have you along, since we haven't wheeled together please take a look at my updated original post as I put in there the suggested requirements for this run if you aren't familiar with it.

Sounds fun, I wish I could go but my rig doesn't have sliders yet (about 3 weeks from being ready from White Knuckle), and is on the stock 265/75/16 BFG Rugged Trails rubber. I have watched a lot of videos of the JB trail, looks pretty intense.

I wouldn't mind going up for some camping if you want and running the trails. Give me a call to work out the details.

It's mostly an uphill or downhill, depending upon the way you take long rock crawl. If you like that sort of thing it's something to not be missed.

I went up to the gate keeper one of the last times they ran it and I thought twice. Granted I didnt plan on taking it anyway but I wouldnt do it stock. If i remember right the other X that went up was Titan Swapped along with a SAS'd Pathfinder. Though the "little john bull" was fun.
