Geo Explorer from TNX has his hi-lift mounted on the front of his rig down low like that, but I think he's running some kind of custom version of a RockyMtnX winch bracket with an OEM front bumper. Maybe he'd be a good resource to reach out to and ask about it. His didn't look to be in the way of anything at all when we ran Death Valley with him back in November.

If it were me, I would mount it to the dephep before I would mount it to the front bumper. Eric(Celt) is the one that has his hi-lift mounted to his calmini bumper.Yeah, I was thinking the same. I think it would probably stay a little more clean if it's mounted up high.
As Jordan said it's me that has it on the bumper. I have had it there for several years now and have had no problems with it. Super easy to get off and on if needed. It does get grimy while on the trails but I clean and oil it when I get home and one of these days if I quit being so cheap I may buy one of those neoprene boots they sell for them that covers the ratcheting mechanism. I think where you show the mounting options in the pic you posted it shouldn't be a big deal or get in the way of anything if you use the style brackets I have. They haven't slipped or moved at all in the last few years once I tightened them. I think I got them from Hi-Lift but can verify if you want.Okay, I thought it was you, but I couldn't remember. Just FYI, if you do decide to get the neoprene cover, buy the Hi-Lift brand. I bought some off-brand and I can't get it to stretch enough to get it zipped. I was looking at those tube style brackets, but it turns out that Tony might actually have a jack mount designed for his rack. I'm waiting for him to get back to me.
If you use the hi-lift brand tube mounts, you can pivot them down a little to make sure the jack doesn't sit in front of your headlights or aux lights too badly. My only concerns would be catching it on brush or branches, and obstructing your fairlead point if/when you mount up a winch (or having to pivot the jack back up, which would then obstruct the headlights as you said).Those are the concerns I share. I'll have to talk to Geo Explorer about his.
