Title: Anyone with reasonable welding/metal cutting tools/skills?
Post by: RikRong on January 22, 2016, 07:58:11 AM
So, my AFE exhaust has been sitting in my garage since I took it off my Frontier in April.  The front half of the exhaust is a perfect fit for the Xterra, however the over-axle part needs to be trimmed a little and possibly cut and re-welded, and possibly have some hangars moved.  It shouldn't be much work for anyone that has the know-how and tools, but I have neither.  I'd rather have someone on here assist, instead of taking it to a shop, and offer my assistance, some frosty beverages, and burgers, if they are willing to help

I think a certain horned member would fit the bill perfectly...but I cannot speak to his availability, so I would add some Dos Equis and Chipotle to the offer...(hint hint)

I appreciate the offer, I'll keep you in mind.  Definitely closer to the man with the horns.

I'm sure we could get some time at The Shop if Danny can't do it right now.

It doesn't really need to be immediately, I was just thinking within the next few weekends.  If you have time that you are free, I'm plenty willing to work around your schedule.

I can help but I'm not sure I'll be any good with an exhaust. Re-routing requires making bends and I don't own any gear to perform exhaust bends or expanders to index the tubing.

Yeah, that makes sense. When I put the exhaust under the truck, everything looked good, except for the straight part coming out the exit side of the  muffler, this was too long. I think all that would need to be done is cutting and possibly moving the hangars. Maybe I need to get back under the truck again and make sure, before deciding on where to do the install.
