Hi,

Just want to share this with the group.  For the ones not afraid of using alien technologies.  I was using this (http://topomapsapp.com/ (http://topomapsapp.com/) app on my iphone to track our location during the mohave road trip.  It works w/o Cell service, prior to your trip, just download the maps in the area and you are set to go.  I didn't want to post it up until I had a chance to test it out this weekend, but it's well worth the 7.99 in the app store.  Once you get the app, the maps are free. 

I know not everyone use Apple product, but I am sure there are similar apps available for Android device.

A bunch of us use back country navigator, I believe it is available for iPhone as well as android.  Always good to have a backup.
