Now that I've read a bunch of stuff, I'm trying to figure out the most logical order of doing mods.
This is what I am currently thinking:
1) Tires-Duratracs 285/75/16 (melt mod if necessary)
2) Sliders
3) Roof Rack
Those are what I most likely be able to afford in the near future, then after that work on anything else I may need, suspension, armor, etc.
Just ordered a VIAIR 400P compressor to air up when needed. Any recommendations on a tire repair kit?
Any insight is much appreciated. Getting excited to get out there and check out some new land. Thanks. Hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving!

First two are good. However, I would consider more armor, over the basket, depending on what kind of offroading you want to do. I have the ARB tire repair kit, it has just about you would need.

This question depends on what you'll be up to.
IMO, maximizing reasonable ground clearance should be high on the list.
Tires and a small lift will get you in and out of a lot of places. Sliders are a great first line of defense against anything that might bite you.
I vote for
1. Tires
2. Suspension
3. Sliders

My Order was
1. Under Armor (Full HeftyFab Skids)
2. Tires (DuraTrac 285/75/R16 plus Melt Mod)
3. Sliders
4. Suspension lift (PRG Advanced Coliover)

Appreciate the advice!

Mainly trails around the mountains. I'm a mountain/forest kid, and love to explore around possible fly fishing streams/rivers.
Is the PML worth the trouble, or would I be better off skipping it all together and saving up for a suspension lift?
Thanks!

All the PML's do is lift the rig. They do nothing to "upgrade" the suspension. Perhaps the most cost effective way of upgrading the suspension is with an OME (Old Man Emu by ARB).
Give Steven at www.RuggedRocks.com a call and he'll get you started. He's local, a great guy and sometimes wheels with us. He wheels a Pathfinder on 37's and just picked up an Xterra to develop it.

For sliders, I'd take a long hard look at www.White-KnuckleOffroad.com
John is in Apple Valley and a super cool dude too. Makes, arguably, the best sliders for our rigs.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the insight. I will get things going soon, and will definitely give Steven a call.
Thanks for taking the time to help out a complete noob to the off road scene!

No problem. When the time comes, there are several members, myself included, that'll be willing to lend knowledge, tools and a driveway.

Reliable air down/air up tools.
Compressor and deflators FTW.
