This a route is 90 miles as the Google flies and should take 4.5 hours without stops.
There is also a possibility of going to Aurora NV in about the same amount of time and seeing the other ghost town in that area.
Got off the phone today with Benton Hot springs. They have 4 campsites left.
I will call in the AM for one of these, leaving three.
There are numerous possibilities in the mountains near Benton if you do not wish to have a hot tub at your campsite at the end of the night.
Trail will be Like this.

Meeting at the town of Bridgeport.
there are other hot springs in the area
Travertine hot springs at the edge of Bridgeport (south end)no camping....
and Buckeye hot springs(North end) some camping......
I will go over Friday night and can camp or hotel depending on who is in.
Alternate route could be through the Aurora NV ghost town.
Still fit with the rest of the trail plan and final destination.

Excellent trip report Chris...you should post a link to the YouTube video. The group at the roadside diner looked a bit...subdued, compared to the commonly robust SCCX gathering. ;)

I'll try to be more entertaining while on camera :)
