Wondering who is going this year and if they would be interested in a convoy out there? I'll be leaving the San Diego area on the 15th and staying that night in Nevada. Going to head out in the morning of the 16th. Trailering so I'll be on cruise mode across the desert.

Guess it's a weak showing from Southern California this year...
-
I've noticed, as a group, we have become a little more overland campers and a little less rock crawler.
-
I've always wanted to do MOAB, but it's just such a commitment; I would want to do the entire week to experience as many trails as possible, plus the meet at the end...
It's a bucket-list thing for me....I'll make it eventually

There's a discussion in the excursions forums about "gone". I am going and as per my post on the goneMOAB forums, I'm leaving on Saturday to drive up. As I'm coming out of the Running Springs area, I can meet up at 138 / I-15.

I'm leaving out of Vegas area on Saturday early in the morning. What time do you think you might be going through there?
-
Probably in the 1030-1100 time frame if I leave my house at 7am. The drive to Moab from my place is advertised as 9.5 hours.

I might get a little earlier jump on it so I will get into Moab earlier in the day, but let me see as things get closer.

Just saw this post Danny...and would agree. The desire to take the DD's out and break them diminishes after a while...although, there are some really great "non damage" trails in Moab.
Fin's N Things comes to mind for sure.
It is a financial commitment as well...time off from work, gas, food, lodging. I think we have averaged between $1,200 and $1,600 each weekly trip we have taken there. Cost savings was between camping and condo lodging.
-
I have had someone pull out of the condo I have.
I have an open twin bed for 300$
any one interested?
Here is your chance to sleep with "THE DANNY GROOTERS"
He is a firm believer in don't ask don't tell :)

Getting ready to make the trip across to Moab. I wish I was the photographer JFanaselle is for this upcoming event but I'll do my best to post a few pics of the trip. I might be able to even sneak in a few of Gone-Shennnagens onto the site. Should be a great event, I wish more from out here were going!

Have fun Erik...my new employer kicks of a big sale weekend for Memorial Day which makes a schedule request for Gone impossible. I also know it is tough for folks with kids, as the school year is closing out and finals/graduation/extra studying come into play.
Post a few pics when you can...in between skull shots of Tuaca.
Say hello to Danny, David and Kelly from XN, Amber, Nick, Alex and the whole crew for me.

Unfortunately I didn't take too many other than the scenery. When you are driving on those obstacles it's kinda hard to do both so I suppose I'm the wrong guy for photo journalism. The pics I did take were mainly of some of the scenery.
