Title: Calling all mechanics help with single spacer install !
Post by: Duke562(rmaligie) on February 16, 2015, 08:53:49 AM: Hey so I know this isn't for an Xterra but I need to install a top plate spacer between my strut the garage wants 200 bucks . Any mechanical guys with tools that I can come over to your place and have you help me . all this is a thin spacer that corrects the lean of front driver side of the car .
I'd like to install before the Bradshaw trip let me know I will compensate you for your time ! I'm located in Oceanside but can come to wherever .

Ps I tried to post on the toyota forums but those guys are a bunch of d***s compared to Xterra guys .

Am I sensing a pre-bradshaw mod day at Duff's house? I have an AAL that needs to be thrown in the rear and I could sure use some help with it. I've never done an AAL but I am pretty sure I need some more parts (I literally just have the additional springs - no new u-bolts, clamps, spacers, center bolt, etc.) I wonder if anyone else has any big projects they need done before the Bradshaw run? ;D

Post by: JFanaselle on February 17, 2015, 11:31:50 AM: Duke - that sounds exactly like the process for installing a spacer on an Xterra. Should be a pretty quick and simple process, as long as there are no siezed bolts or any other problems to deal with.

As for the Duff signal - I wasn't exactly putting the signal out there, but I sure could use a hand from an expert or two when doing this AAL. I dind't know if there were other people who were also hoping to have something done before the Bradshaw trip. With the trip only two weekends away, we'd really only have this weekend to do it, which might be too short of a notice for anyone who needed/wanted to participate in a mod day anyway. :-\

As much as I want the help with the AAL, I'm going to have to order some parts from Calmini before I'll be ready to do it. Sucks too, because Saturday would work perfect as far as the family schedule is concerned. I'll call Calmini tomorrow and order the stuff. I think they're in Bakersfield, so if I can convince them to ship it all tomorrow, it MIGHT arrive in time. If not, I can show up anyway just to hang out (and pray that there will be eggrolls!)

Saturday sounds great... 7:30 sound like sh**. We will start at 9:00 and be fine. The spacer sounds easy enough. If you can, spray all nuts and bolts concerned with Kroil or PB Blaster ASAP, that will help for sure.
JF, even if you don't get all your parts, bring what you got and we will see what we can do. Jordan or any other wrenches, feel free to come and watch the rookies skin knuckles.

Post by: JFanaselle on February 18, 2015, 07:15:54 PM: Based on everyone's feedback about Calmini, I called Deaver today and got all of the parts ordered (on Steve C's recommendation). U bolts, shims and center bolts. Steve C is going to stop by their shop tomorrow and pick everything up and bring it all to Duff's house on Saturday. What a stand up guy! Everyone in this "club" is so awesome. ;D

Post by: knightrider on February 19, 2015, 12:53:15 PM: Dif fluid is really easy, take out the filler plug( always remove the filler plug first, so you make sure you can add fluid, don't wanna be stuck not being able to get the filler plug out with an empty dif), remove drain plug, catch old fluid, replace drain plug, fill dif until fluid comes out the fill hole, replace fill plug and your done.
