Title: New to California.
Post by: Bloodvayne on November 28, 2014, 01:14:52 AM
Hiya's!

Just got transferred here to Edwards AFB from Virginia. Actually pretty stoked about it because of the change of scenery. Gonna have to get used to wheeling around desert though. I'm from Pennsylvania and have been stationed in Virginia the past 10 years. I was active with VAXC and still own the website for them, and have wheeled a couple times with GPAX. So to go from woods, mud, water crossings to this is a change in pace. Look forward to any future events that may be planned and meeting up with fellow X enthusiasts. I have a '12 Pro-4X and her name is Anomalous. Don't be afraid to wave and honk if you see me!

At least he's not in SanDiego. Welcome from Pasadena. A few of us are wheeling in BigBear (actually to BigBear) this weekend. Check out the Xcusions thread for runs.

He did mention wheeling in the desert...and we all know the only TRUE desert is east of San Diego.

Welcome to the group (from San Diego)...sounds like you have a pretty good X background.

Like Toro said...check the Xcursions thread for upcoming stuff...I think there's a run planned for tomorrow...Rattlesnake Canyon, which is a great intro to the local deserts/mountains.

Welcome!

Also sign up for the Bradshaw Trail run in a couple of months.  That's shaping up to be a great run.

Woo Hoo! someone else in the High Desert! I'm in Pinon Hills.

Like Ghost X said the true desert is north east of San Diego. You're not too far from Johnson Valley, the home of King of the Hammers, the elite desert race in the US. If you live in the Antelope Valley you are also pretty close to Death Valley, the hottest place on earth.
