Title: Kern County Trails
Post by: Toro on April 25, 2014, 03:41:02 PM
Thinking about putting together a Kern County trip. This would include Monache and Kennedy meadows along with Sherman Pass. I wouldn't know where I'm going, would be exploring and probably getting lost. It will possibly be a two nighters camp. Any takers?

There would most likely be fishing involved too.

Sounds like fun. I've heard there is some wheeling up there to. Two nights camping?  Fun ;D ;D

How about 08/15-08/17?
A trip to Monache meadows and a trip through Sherman Pass.

Those dates are fine for me.  How tough is the trail?

Sherman pass trail is a Black Square.
For those familiar with BigBear, I would put it somewhere around GoldMountain.
The trail is an option that I'm considering skipping, but it is near by enough to day trip it.

If by 'fishing' you mean sitting by a lake or stream with a cooler, I'm in ;)

Monache is off of the 395, north of the Lake Isabella exit. You can hit it on the way home.
