Harrah's Laughlin Welcomes SCCX!
Alright guys, everything is setup for the group! Here's our custom link:
http://www.totalrewards.com/hotel-reservations?propCode=LAU&groupCode=L04SCC4
All you have to do is select April 18 for check in, number of guests(group rate is good up to 2 people, if you've got kids, pack them in a suitcase or just dont bring them to check in desk to save yourself the $10-20). upgraded rooms are available, but be aware, the group rate is for a deluxe room which is already an upgrade from the north tower classic rooms.
For guests that prefer to phone in their reservations, they may call our Reservation Center at 877-881-5955 to secure a reservation on your group block. Callers must use your group code to identify the group, L04SCC4.
Please note that you and your guests may make reservations in the block at group rate until 3/19/2014. After that time, the group rate will be offered based on hotel availability only.
In addition to the reduced rates on rooms, Harrah's has also offered discount coupons for the buffet if people are interested.

to give Danny a start at rebuilding...
Looks like interest is definitely there. This is happening, who's down? Head to Laughlin on Friday the 18th. Stay at hotel/camp. Hit the road early Sat the 19th. Camp Sat night along the road. Finish road on Sunday the 20th. No real wheeling, just a desert trip and camping through a historical, 120 mile, desert road.
We would be starting in Laughlin, at the AVI Casino, on the morning of the 19th and head west towards I-15. Camp at Hole in the wall, Camp Mojave or Beal Mt on Saturday night. We can take a vote but I think I'd like to end it at Afton Canyon and avoid the "Mojave River".
This is stock (running boards and mud flaps style) and family friendly.

2. MotorPig77 +1
3. UltraPC40
If I don't have your cell, please PM it to me
Due to permits for large groups, this run is capped at 15 vehicles and 35 people.
If we fill up, I will start a standby list. Last year we had no cancelations and took 15 trucks through the trail. The Year before that we had about 6+ last min cancelations. We will not run a second smaller group to circumvent the permit. I'm on the hook and held responsible with the Mojave National Preserve and don't want to poke a bear.

Comm's
Please remember to pick up a CB. I will not be doing FRS this year. We will communicating 100% by CB. Ham radio will only be used to talk isht about those with out Ham radio's . With a group this size, Ham will be used to have solid Comm's btwn lead and tail....and god forbid, in case of emergency. There are many reasonable options available.

I will be doing the Friday Morning Blast again this year. For those that dont know, its a Warp9 haul through the Mojave South of I40. In my opinion, its some of the least traveled beautiful chunk of dessert around.
In the interest of doing the whole thing this year....I'd like to get a super early start.
We will meet in Beaumont, then gas up in 29 Palms. Then its all dirt road to Goffs, then to Laughlin.
1. Toro

Dude!! Jordan, you're a genius. Nice save, that's a great start. ;D
-
If there is a opening let me know! id love to go and break in the new X
-
I am cleared for takeoff. It seems I am on standby on one list and on attending on another. Let me know if I am on standby.
-
i was the last one on the attendee list prior to the post imploding. i'm 80% sure that i am going. i'd call those prety good odds.
-
But me down for the Friday dash - I can meet ya at the McDonald's, but that place is nasty. Toro - if you want waffles and bacon drive a few miles up the road, turn left at 12th and right on California to Myrl and you are at my place.
Friday potluck - salsa, rice, whatever Tom cooks up
See you all soon ;D
-
On the list for Mohave rd only, won't make the Friday dash.
-
I'm definitely in for this. I doubt I will make the Friday morning run though.
As for stuff I'll be bringing, I have a couple of butane stoves, a couple of 5' tables, a canopy (doubt we'd need it), lots of wood, and a couple of extra chairs. I won't be bringing it all but just throwing it out there in case I need to.
As for the potluck, I can bring some carne asada and tortillas from northgate.
