While we are collectively brainstorming for the Repair Kit, I figured I'd start this thread too.
Tow Strap w/o metals hooks at the ends
Tree strap or other HD strap for a winch anchor point
D-Ring Shackles
Section of Truck Towing Chain
Tackle or Pully for winch cable
Shovel
Axe / Sledgehammer combo
Hi Lift with slider adapter
Maxtrax style treadplates
Exhaust Jack
Leather gloves
Winch Cable Dampener
Large Crescent Wrench to tighten D-rings (or leave em finger tight of you want ( :)
The trusty SCCX Tampon
PullPal style Winch Anchor

Whats that thing called, made by SmittyBilt, looks like a combination between a giant arrowhead and a shovel that buries itself in the ground for self-extraction?
We could also include the ARB, TJM and HiLift winch conversion kit that has some of the previously mentioned items already included in it.

Every review of those wasp, or clones never turn out very positive, I think you have to spring for the pullpal

Sorry John, no apps for me. Old school flip phone only, military-spec, waterproof and rugged. Dropped it twice from 20' ft plus construction work and still alive!

Well if you are going tighten D-rings with a Crescent wrench you better hang it from your mirror. Again when do you remove or install a D-ring? Usually when you don't have time to think "Now where did I put that Crescent wrench".
I remember a time when I had to strap a person up 50 degree incline. So here I was virtually laying on his grill trying to get a DAMN D-ring off to put a strap on.
Therefore how about putting on your D-rings finger tight at the trail head so they can be easily removed in case you need it.
Just sayin'

thats why i dont drive around with shackles on my truck. they should never be more than finger tight

Good point I also use a hook in my trailer hitch thus eliminating the requirement for a D-ring in the back.

Very good points.
