Good call Jordan, I love my Kenwood 241a.  Only once have I wanted to use a duel band, and I have a hand held for that.  These are user friendly(an old guy like me can figure it out) and have the best built in speaker.  Duh, it's a Kenwood.

(is this a ham radio?...because, to the rest of us, we have no clue what 2m means....but if you were to somehow clue us newbs in....that might even force one of us to buy the damn thing....maybe)

Yes, it's a ham radio for the most popular bandwidth.

2m is what most hams start off on and it's the bandwidth where you will most likely find someone to help you in an emergency.

This is a good radio for an off-road enthusiast who is getting their ham ticket.

yes this is a great beginner ham radio.  the guy is getting out of the business of selling ham and cb radio stuff so hes got good prices.
