Title: Moto/ATV/Side by Side Mojave Road trip Nov 2-3
Post by: Mastagrog on October 10, 2013, 07:53:00 PM
So I know yall already did one this year that I unfortunately missed... again this year. I also understand that this is a different Off-road adventure than we are all used to seeing around these parts. However it could be a fun trip. Here are the details:

1. Trip starts in Barstow and ends in Laughlin for the night, then pack up and ride back to Barstow the next day, standard route from what I understand.
2. Everyone is on their own for things like gas, water, clothing, etc.
3. We will be staying at the Ari in Laughlin. Rooms are $69 a night for a double queen.
4. This ride is not for the faint of heart, for anyone that has driven it you would know.
5. This trip is an idea that was put together by my buddy and his friends and coworkers so I'm not looking to crash his party, but he gave me the green light to invite some dudes along for the trip.

If anyone has any interest in coming along let me know, or if anyone that wants to make a separate Xterra detachment to bring up the rear. You can't go wrong when you get a little dust on the tires!!

November is a nice time to be on the road.  Giving it a single day tho, you'll be truckin.  Its around 150 miles assuming Soda Lake is passable.  In any case, you'll feel like the only person on earth with nothing but wilderness around you.

If you have a chance, go to the MDHCA website and buy Dennis Casebier's Mojave Road Guide.  It'll give you some sense of what you are passing through and who came before.

Enjoy the trip.

Thanks for the info man. Right now we have 5-6 bikes, 4-5 atvs and 2-4 side by sides going. So it's a bit of a group. I don't think I'm ready to tackle a feat like that by myself yet lol.

Thanks for that link! Come to find out they have already done it once or twice with success.  It sounds really fun and was looking forward to it until I was told that I had some unexpected business to fulfill for the next 3 months on Friday so I don't think I will be able to make the trip this weekend:/
