HID Conversion Project

A little something special waiting under the light mounts

The main power supply connector you must disconnect first

This grey support bar must be removed due to the size of the HID light backend.  I plan on modifying it later so I can reinstall it without the lights hitting it.

She needs a bath and then I'll shoot a couple and get them up.  I am definitely ready for Gold Mountain and others now. :)

I head back to ORW to pickup a tire repair kit and get the 500 mile re-torque inspection done later this week.

So you in  ;D  If you want.  Current plan (Albeit as spontaneous as it is) I'm going to meet my daughter in BB 0900-0930 Friday and I plan to be done by 1400 worst case.   My number (seven one four) two seven one - three five seven one.   From what I see you are equipped this time.   We will not leave any parts behind   ;)

For my latest trick, I mounted the bracket for my 5 pound dry chem extinguisher in the cargo bay.  Not much of a "mod", for now, but hey, I have one now.

Terry, I'm going all LED on the interior, converting my (useless) off road lights to HID to make them like the landing lights on the 737 I fly (actually useful at night), my front AND rear shrocks are in production (May delivery :/ ), already called ORW about getting the rig in when the Shrocks are delivered to them, upgrading the springs in front to 650's.

Now I just need to bug Danny about winch systems and a couple other minor things. ;)

Black semi-gloss powder coat. It will go with my super black.  I "hope" I can receive them and get them installed to maybe make Moab this year for at least a day or two.

Just an fyi about the fire extiguisher, Might want to look into a halon or co2 extinguisher instead of dry chem, dry chem is very corrosive and expensive to clean up because its hazmat, even if your vehicle doesn't burn to the ground, its totaled in the insurance companies eyes.  Halon is similar to co2 but doesn't displace oxygen like co2 so you don't go night night if it happens to rupture in your vehicle.  They are less effective on class A fires(stuff that leaves an ash) but will work.

from what i saw john its mounted on the inside of the aluminum part thats mounted to the roof rack, in the area where the 2 horizontal poles get stored. i think its a standard option on the ironman awnings but could easily be added to the arb if you could find an led strip that has double sided tape on the back and a cig lighter adapter.
