I remember even as short as 3 years ago Paul & Noon took us out on cool desert adventures!
We used to meet up Saturday mornings and wheel all day and then camp Saturday nights, then wheel on Sunday during the day.
I'm really missing overnight adventures. After driving all day it's great to camp and head out in the morning.
Why can't SCCX do more overnighters? I really don't feel like driving hours to a run then drive all day to a run, then drive hours home after a run.
We don't want to camp by ourselves either. It's safer in a group.
We did Cerro Gordo and the Bristlecone pine forest in a overnight run.
We did Monache Meadows and Sherman Pass in an overnight run.
We did idly wild in an overnight run.
Let's get more than two runs a year (Danny's Mojave road & CANVAZ)
Come on guys and gals.

That sounds like fun! Go ahead and set it up! I'm sure you will find people that would come along. I think a lot of people expect other people to do all the planning of Xcursions and outings, and all they have to do is show up. So your idea sounds great! You've been on these trips and will know what is needed in the planning so it should be a well organized trip. Thanks for stepping up Mark! That's exactly what this club needs. People like you to pitch in and take the reigns. Just make sure it's not raining or snowing for the date you choose. We have a bunch of woos's (sp?) in this club when it comes to cold weather. ;D

Lol...
Mark, I think you just signed yourself up. Marshann is right, most people would like to do this. They either don't know where to start and want to risk the unknown or thier being lazy and just want to show up.
Last year I feel like I took a huge risk on Mojave Rd because I had never done it before. It'll all worked out well. You've been to these places and have an idea of what to expect.
I'll keep an eye on the Xcussion threads for your next run.
BTW: I havn't forgot about you guys. I talked to someone last week about you guys. Nothing's come up in my areas, but I'm still looking.

Take the lead and others will follow.

We'd like to do more with the group. Right now our free time is a bit limited and I think most of you are a further bit south than us, and definitely more advanced than us. Still newbies here.
Yeah, we didn't camp up in Big Bear. Opted for the heated cabin.

If you set one up I will definately be there. I was willing to travel to Arizona for an overnight run with the AZXC. I was bummed when it all fell through.

Everyone,
Thank you for the kind words, words of motivation! Okay I will plan an overnight run. I promise. Danny, we miss you guys. Nia and I got married! Thanks for not forgetting about her.
See everyone on Danny's Mojave road trip! We will plan the next overnighter.

You should post those up in the Camping Photos area.

Oh, so you'll drive 15hrs to Arizona for a AZXC meet, but you can't make it to Big Bear....Holy Jim....
I SEE HOW IT IS.....THAT'S JUST FINE CHRIS. I'LL HUNT FOR MY OWN FIREWOOD GUY I GUESS. SHEESH.

I would make it there for an overnight run. The nice thing about AZ is it would have been a change of scenery. It seems like most SCCX runs were in Big Bear, I was starving for something different and was willing to travel to AZ for it. To top it all off, it was an overnight run, where we would actually need firewood. I wonder if that guy makes deliveries?

Pretty sure that guy will deliver for the right price... ;)
