Guys and gals,
I am posting here to start a general interest thread to see who wants to attend goneMOAB. Having been involved in the event for the last four years, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Speaking from personal experience, this is one of the most beautiful off road destinations that you can travel to.

The trails are epic, and lodging arrangements are available from condos to campsites.

Please visit www.gonemoab.com for general information, or you can Private Message (PM) me here.

Are you ready?

When planning for something like this, how much time does one set aside? 1 week? 2 weeks? How long does it take to drive out there?
-
Roughly 12 hours if you push it straight through. But people like to have fun going and coming so will tend to stop for the night in Las Vegas, Mesquite or Saint George for the night. Probably depends on how much partying you want to do.
-
Honestly, I don't recommend the straight through drive. I did this last year with my son Alex, and it took us 14 hours with a few stops for gas and food. We arrived in Moab at 1:30 in the morning, dead dog tired.
As Terry suggests Irwin, the best plan is to stop either in Las Vegas or Mesquite, or St. George and get a good nights rest after 5-7 hours and complete the final leg the next day.
The event runs Monday through Friday, with a Meet N Greet event the Sunday night before. So, with two travel days bookending the trip, you are looking at a minimum of 9-10 days for the trip.

well it looks like i may be able to make this trip after all, i was going to have to miss it because of school but due to some events i may have to drop my class. ill have to figure out soon if i can get off work that week. what if any is the return policy on tickets?

No refunds...but usually not too hard to sell before the event starts.

Would LOVE to attend but as luck would have it, my annual Core Training and blah blah blah blah new crap to learn is scheduled over this event and then will not be able to attend. Boooooooo....I couldn't even get Vacation for the week prior. Company Man, keeping the brother down.

Waste Management must be a good field these days. ;)

I would like bump this thread and see if we can get anymore SCCXers interested in GoneMoab this year. It is truly an epic event and deserves consideration even if you can't make the whole week.
P.S. You will have a lot of friends there

Tell Nick to get busy finishing the mods on his rig.
what about your rig? all the mods ready?
-
LOL nope. My truck is not coming to Moab. Even if I had the built up rig for it, we couldnt afford both of them. I think we will wait to take both until I get my new Frontier and we are living closer. A year or two. :)

Sooo... I have a crazy plan coming....I saw a listing for 07 X Off road with a titian swap, armor and a rear TAG bumper with tire carrier...(Xterraor06 on TNX) I sold MY Xterra a couple months ago and have been looking for a good platform for the new Official ORPP vehicle. HEre is my crazy plan. Mind you I just came up with this and it will probabily change a bunch of times. I am planning on flying to Tennessee, Buying said Xterra, Meeting up with the Convoy from the east coast in ST Louis and making the trip to MOAB in the new X....I figure That since I already have a budget going for Moab, why not just up my budget and kill two birds with one stone.
-
That sounds like a terrific plan too me. Can hardly wait to see your new rig in Moab this year.
Now does that commit you? ;D
-
I am fully committed this year buddy...If the X falls through I will ride my motorcycle there...nothing will be getting in the way if this years trip...
