We talked to Fontana Nissan yesterday and it looks like the new Frontiers wont be out and in stock until March or April. Looks like I am going to be an Xterra owner for a while yet. :/
-
I've been eye balling the Fronty for some time too.

I remember you discussing the 2012 vs the 2013. Does the 2013 give you a lot of new features?
-
Not sure yet. We have a friend that works on the product team at Nissan Corporate that we met at Moab in 2011. I talked to him about what I want and he told me to wait until the 2013 comes up. They havent released all of the specifics on it yet sadly. I looked at the 2012 as well, but no one had the color I wanted in the Pro4X. The closest dealership that had them was in Washington.

Patience young padowan. Good things come to those who wait...

There is an article about the 2013 Frontier on ClubFrontier.org someone posted a Nissan Newsletter. In the article everything is the same except they took out the "Sports Appearance" package and revived the "Desert Runner" package. The Desert Runner is basically a 2wd Pro-4x [what I drive]. The interior is kind of the same just the center console may have different buttons. But the Pro-4X with Luxury does get a built in touch screen for audio and navigation. The 2014 Frontier will be completely different.

Year 2013 is a minor update with 2014 slated to be a major overhaul
-
Jordan is right. My Nissan contact says 2013 is the refresh only, and 2014 will be re-design or overhaul.
-
That sucks. I might just pay off my xterra and get a frontier next year.
-
That doesn't make sense to me. If you pay off your X, why do you want to get stiffled with monthly paxments for another 5-6 years when those funds can go towards serious upgrades. You don't want to pour money into something that can be repossed.
-
I like my Xterra, but I want an actual truck. I have for a while.
-
pay off the Xterra and Keep it. Due to the CAFE standards, Nisan is losing the Midsized SUV (Xterra) to fall in federal standards. They are keeping the Fronier Pickup, which will increase the resale value of the Xterra. ! :)
Also the Titan will be offered in Diesel very soon. ;D
