Hey guys, im a noobie x owner. Whats the max size tire i can put on without a body lift? curious to know, if anyone can answer. Thanks.
-
Are you talking about any lift at all? Most people around here do the 2 1/2 inch suspension lift (Spacers in the front and shakles in the back) and with the "melt mod" you can get 33" (285 75x16) tires in there.
-
Depends what year xterra you own, 1st gens 00-04 can fit a 32" tire, 2nd gen can fit 33", sometimes you need to do the melt mod to move some plastic to avoid minor rubbing
-
265's are the safest. (no fender rub etc.)
Some will stuff 285's, but I know you will at least have front fender (lower rear fender) rub for sure.
As Terry mentioned, a 2" spacer/shackle lift will give you good clearance with minimal side effects.

If you have a 2000 to 2004 Frontier or Xterra, you can fit 31x10.5x15 offroad tire. These are much chunkier than regular tires. To keep it from rubbing, which is not a big deal, you would need a poor mans lift (PML). This includes longer shackles ($55) and cranking up the factory front torsion bars. Later, you can upgrade those to Sway A Way (SAW) bars.

Their profile says a 2011 S model.

Sounds like a job for "Tapatalk" :o
Jaime on here runs 33"s (285/75/16's) on the stock Billlstiens and full armor. Its possible...

I am kinda undecided on the 285 vs 265 as well. 265 will definitely fit without any mod. It is, in general, cheaper and easier on the MPG. But, the 285 sure looks good on the X.
