Here is a link to Team SCCX on geocaching.com. I believe Dave (dhsundance) knows the password, but he hasn't been around for a while.

You need to register on geocaching.com to view the caches. if you prefer not to register, here is a write-up of one of the club's caches to give you an idea.
Located in Upper Coyote Canyon at the end of the trail next to Bailey's Cabin. You can make this a 2 for 1 cache by getting the Terwillger Turkey Cache.
This cache was placed during a lunch break at the cabin. Our club, Southern California Club Xterra (SCCX), occasionally likes to place caches while on our off-roading Xcursions throughout So Cal. Last year we placed one in Lower Coyote Canyon (4WD Parking Garage). So now we have caches on both ends. Too bad you can't drive through the entire canyon.
If you decide to hike to this cache- you're in for a very long hike. It's best to get here by 4WD vehicle. And since it is in Anza Borrego State Park- highway legal vehicles only.
The trailhead starts off Terwilliger Road in the town of Anza. It proceeds down a fairly rutted trail highlighted by the steep Turkey Grade. High clearance, 4 Low, first gear, and intelligent wheel placement should get you through fine with no complaints. Our club had some novice drivers with completely stock setups and tires and they did great.
When you get to the cabin the cache wil be easy to find. If you'd like you can even stay the night.

Marshann...this is very cool. I logged onto Geocaching.com and sent Dave a message there.
This would be a great way to have a fun Club run and incorporate geocaching!
Max...are you out there??? :)

Max...are you out there??? :)
Many people have told me I am.
This would be cool to get going if it was a SCCX account. I was part of SoCal4x4Geocachers.com and several of us had the password so we could place caches under that username. I still have several that are still active.
As for the one cache under the username it hasn't been found since 09 and one DNF in 2010. Maybe we need to check on this one.....

Alright GeoMavricks, I'll tail-gun for you guys anytime. Anytime we get out of triple digit temps, that is. Don't they hide these things in Big Bear or near a cool stream or near a cool beer :o

They are all over Big Bear.

Just so you know, I think that Dave still checks in here once in a while. He even shows up on an Anza Borrego run or two. You might try a PM through this site.

I checked and he checked in on the geocaching site today. If we don't hear from him here that's another way make contact. I can send him a message that way.

I checked with Dave and he doesn't know the password or who created the profile originally.
Max...can you help here? Maybe re-create an SCCX Team profile? Let me know.
John

No problem. I'll take care of it.

John, do you want to send the same message to him that you sent to Dave asking for the password?

Thank you Mitch and Marshann...I will reach out to Snoopy. He and I missed meeting each other at Moab last year by a day!

Okay, thanks Marshann. I sent Travis/SnoopyX a message over on Geocaching.com. We will see if he responds.

It turns out it was Jason Koepke (xterrer) who set up the account, although I suspect Travis/Snoopy and Dave/dhsundance did most of the logging. Jason is a former BOD who got a jeep, moved out of state, and then wised up and got a new Gen II. I will PM you the login password for Team SCCX. So it looks like we are good to go. Now we just need to get busy logging some finds and hides!

This is great news...I have logged the cache we found as a group on Rattlesnake Canyon...Longhorn Springs. It was the only cache we found as a group that weekend, but thanks to you now this opens up the opportunity to really start caching on runs!
Thank you Marshann!!!
Interestingly, there is actually a cache that the Club stashed south of the town of Anza, and east of Temecula. It was last found in 2009, and reported as missing in 2010.
I think we should put together a day trip on a Sunday and go refind/replace the cache...looks like an easy trail according to the cache description. This would be fun, as there are at least two other caches in the area to check out. The cache description mentions a cabin nearby...do you remember this run/cache location Marshann??

Thanks John. Yes, I definitely remember that trip. It was an overnight camping trip and the next day we went to CalRocs II http://www.calrocs.com/ (California Rock Crawling and Off-Road Championship Series).
