Anyone down to hit up Gold Mountain the 16th of June? Thoughts? Ideas? Alt date?
I'm up for something Nick...need to assess my schedule post Moab. Isn't that Father's Day weekend?

Oh, maybe, didn't think of that one...

I'm thinking a day trip for myself (but if there's interest...), if anyone wants to camp then so be it. Fronty's definitely a YAY! The more the merrier.

I am torn, Tierra Del Sol is doing a Big Bear run on the 15th..... who knows, maybe I will make a long weekend of it.
-
i am up for it but never been there how hard is that area
You will want at least a 2" lift, sliders, and skids for this run, and 33" tires.
How is your truck outfitted?

Lift? Check, 33's? Check, Sliders? Check. However, I don't have any skids yet. Those rocks look sharp. Am I good?

Careful spotting should get you through (waiver/damage disclaimer here), although some results may vary. ;)
Put skids on your wishlist soon.

sadly im out on this one guys. Just got in an accident and cash is slim. Maybe next time. looks like fun though
-
I'm out to guys.. I don't have sliders yet and my tires are only 32's. Maybe next time I should ask what I really need to make these runs.
Bummer Henry, I hope all is well....

I didnt read pg. 2 i only have a pml and no sliders 33s or skids, can i still make it???
-
I have not done this trail, but it has a moderate to difficult rating. I would not go without sliders. Does any one know if there are alternate (easier) trails.
-
saw this and if you have never been this will give you a taste of whats to come

I did Gold Mountain in my stock 91 4runner a few years ago. Except for the first obstacle, which looks more imposing in the above photos, there were bypasses for the tougher spots.

Count Nia and Mark in!
Anyone want to camp Saturday night? Come on we need some campers up in this piece!

First timers considering this trail -
The trail ratings and requirements are here for your safety and enjoyment.
Sliders, 33" tires, at least a 2" lift, and skids are required for this run. You could get by with out the skid plates, but should at least Private Message NPGTech (Trail Leader) or myself so we can discuss your rig/off road capability.
If we haven't met or wheeled with you on the trail, we don't know how you handle the stress/tension of body/mechanical damage on your rig, not to mention that trail side repairs can add to trail time (not to mention borrowing our tools ;)) for everyone on the run if you bring a rig without the minimum requirements.
We never want to turn anyone away, but ask that you consider the group as well as the individual when making the decision to attend a more advanced/higher difficulty rating Xcursion.
-
henrypro11...sorry to hear about your accident, hope it's just sheet metal and glass and everyone is okay.
Thank you for coordinating the sign up list here and over on CF, it is much appreciated. Get the Fronty patched up soon so we can see you out on the trail.
NPGTech and I are getting ready to head out from St. George, Utah after a great week of wheeing in Moab.
See you all soon!

It looks like I won't be able to make this one, I have no lift and only have a radiotor skid unless you count the factory skids. I am hoping to have a lift kit soon and I think I've narrowed it down to the NissTec ultimate 4WD lift kit.
-
Hey everyone...I didn't mean to sound strict in my previous post. :)
This trail can be a bit nasty, and has changed a bit over time. Some of the ledges/obstacles are more dug out/aggressive now. I would hate to have someone come out and gouge/dent/damage their vehicle or have a serious mechanical on a first time Xcursion.
It looks like a big response for this run, another reason to make sure all of the trucks are trail appropriate to keep the bigger group moving.
Please feel free to Private Message Nick, NPGTech, the Trail Leader with any questions about capability/adaptability. ;D
-
Oh well, here goes nothin.... :o
-
After some of the carnage we witnessed this past week at GONE, we are just trying to be realistic with what to expect. This trail can get crazy (you make the trail as hard as you want), but I am definitely firm on the skids and 33" tires. This is one of the most rocky, both small to large, no real boulders to climb over, trails in Big Bear.
I ran this trail with Marc (ArchX), Matt (hardrock), someone with a Jeep Cherokee, last year. The only real issues then was the fairly stock Jeep getting stuck literally between two rocks front/rear bumper. With a little high lifting we got him out.
Also, Shi819, our son and I are going to turn this into a camping trip. Looks like we are going to go up Friday night, then come back Sunday night. I'll be looking at places to camp tonight (after I'm done with my X's revitalization). If there are enough people interested we could look at the group campsites that are available in the Big Bear area.
Also, throughout the Big Bear area, if you decide you want to stop and "recreate" or stop along a trail pretty much anywhere throughout the forest area, you will need an adventure pass. These can be purchased at many places in Big Bear, and I believe they are good for any other national forest areas here in SoCal, they are $30 for the year, and $5 for any other vehicles you may own.
Again any question, please feel free to contact myself or John *GhostX*.

Ok I'm updating the first post with important email, CHECK IT OUT!

If you are 100% sure you are going, PM and I'll get you down as confirmed.

Great new updated plans Nick! I'd love to go but don't think the X will be back by then.

Depending on the amount of rigs, sure we can do that. There are a few spots that can get a bit crazy. Hopefully Marc or Matt can chime in, with their opinions on this trail in particular.

I'm in for the split trip. I've done a few of the medium trails around Holcomb but not this area. I have the wheels and the lift but not the skids so i am a little nervous about doing the hardcore rocks.
-

It is not a function of experience, it has to do with the trail capability of each Xterra for this specific run.
Gold Mountain is a challenging trail, and bringing a truck out without the minimum requirements will certainly result in some damage, either cosmetic or mechanical.
It would be a bummer to have to tow someone off the trail or leave some paint on the rocks...just sayin'.
-

Ok, well if you think it can be done without skid plates, I'm in.

I'd be cool with split groups .. i tend to like to move along at a good pace and start early on the trail so would prefer an early group, but nick just let me know, as it is your run..

What about the bypasses??
-
I'm down for anything. Hard run, early run, late run, hard run, split run, easy run, hard run, big group, small group, hard run...
....anything at all.
-
Ideally we would keep it one group. This would be a great opportunity for those that are new to the off road world, or their trucks to get some first hand experience. Or to just watch someone with a smiliar rig get the knowledge of how to negotiate the trail/obstacle. As of right now, I'm only going to count confirmed people as coming out, so make sure to PM me if you are confirmed for coming out so I can update the list and try to gauge how we'll run this trail.
For now, one group, even spread out the capable/experienced crew amongst the less capable rigs/novice wheelers. Don't be afraid of speaking up, if you need a spotter or just some help. I would rather spend time spotting someone through and obstacle the right way then spending time fixing them on the trail.

-
Yup, and either that pic does not do justice, or it has eroded quite a bit since..
-
Work schedule changed. I'm out. Anyone wanna do something on Sunday or late Sat?
-
I always feel like pictures don't really do it justice.
-
Toro,
some of us will be there all weekend, let us know when you can make it.
-
We are going to go up there the weekend of the 9th and pre-run some trails for the more stock vehicles. My truck is way more stock than Nick's, so we will find one or two trails to do for the rest of us stock people. :) I will happily trail lead, but I would appreciate a volunteer to tail gun for me.

Hey Shi and Nick,
I can tailgun or whatever you guys need (I don't cook or do windows) for the whole weekend of the 16th.
Thanks for all the time and effort that you trail leaders are putting in.

Can you help on the weekend of the 16th, that is where we really need the help?
Thanks. :)
Lol, what John said. :) The 16th is going to be a big run it seems. This makes me really happy. I am really glad to see so many people getting involved.

Well it seems I have a problem and can't go now. Even though today is her birthday the party was planned for 16th w/o my knowledge. I tried to convince her to go and make it an off road birthday party but she is stubborn and doesn't want anything to do with a black diamond trail. I insisted she would have fun but my 92 year old grandmother says it's her party and she wants to have it at home......so I gotta bail on this run. Whatever!!!

Alright so apparantly there is a pretty decent sized Jeep event going on Father's Day weekend up in Big Bear. I've poked around on their site, their group of 22-24 Jeeps are going to hit the Gold Mountain trail head at 0830 am. We'll be getting to the trail head after them, but just a heads up there will be plenty of Jeeps throughout Bear. They are running several trails from Friday through to Sunday, so expect plenty of Jeeps everywhere, keep that in mind when you want to get air/fuel/food anywhere in Big Bear. I think we should be good for our runs, I don't see an issue right now.
If anyone is interested in reading up on their event, here's the link to their Facebook page:
Big Bear Forest Fest (http://www.facebook.com/IE4WDC#!/IE4WBBFF)
Thanks HEVAK for the heads up!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But I'd like to echo what GhostX said to me yesterday, and I will paraphrase, " It's going to be a great time to show up with a bunch of Bad Ass Xterra's."
This is going to be a PARTY!! :P
-
I totally forgot about forest fest.. forest fest is pretty huge.
-
I totally forgot about forest fest.. forest fest is pretty huge.
I count over 300 Jeeps running all over Big Bear on Saturday.
-
That's a lot of rigs out there! I went through their lists and made sure our Comm channels didn't get mixed up. I can't believe how many for just this, we had just over 90 rigs at GONE I think, I can't even begin to fathom 300+ rigs running trails in one day for one event.
-
Maybe we should run a little later...sleep late. ;)
-
Yep maybe 2 hrs after the 22 jeeps? Just askin ;)
-
Tonight I spoke with a Jeep friend. I mentioned the 16th and he said it's crazy to go that weekend. I guess there is the main group on that trail in the morning but there will be others on the trail all day. He went last year well after the main group in the morning and they caught up with and had to wait behind them.
I still can't go since Grandma is not listening to any of my pleas to move her 92nd B-Day party to Big Bear. Since Oz was going to be my ride he was even cool enough to drive his X over to her house today so we could try to load her and her walker in the backseat. She wouldn't go for it. So I'm still out. Whatever!
-
Maybe we should run a little later...sleep late. ;)

So lunch then hit the trail??
-
Leave it to a bunch of Jeeps to suck all the fun out of everything :'(
I'm just kidding, we are equal opportunity off roaders ::)
Would it be a horrible idea to postpone our run until the following weekend?? :-\
-
Actually nick, thats a good idea or maybe like 11ish.. Gold Mtn is always popular, and sorta tight trail. I don't doubt well see others up there possibly for delays.. not a super long trail.. id say late morning, lunch time sorta start. If our group is too big i dont mind splitting off to lighten the load.
-
Better yet, blaze early like 6:30am..
-
Better yet, blaze early like 6:30am..
I doubt this will work for the people who arent camping Friday night. :/
-
Better yet, blaze early like 6:30am..
That might be a tad early... ;)
I like the possibility of 10-ish start...11 at the latest.
We can run for a bit, and if we run into traffic, just pull over and break for lunch. Wait out the log jam over sammiches, and move on.
The worst day on the trail is better than the best day working...
Ultimately...NPGTech's call. :)

Originally our start time is at 10 at the trail head. We can go later, say 12? Either drive and eat, or eat before start. Either way it will probably be a long trail day due to the event all weekend.
As for the mention of moving it to the following weekend. You can if you want, I will be out of town the 20-25th helping out with the NorCal Summer Special Olympics at UC Davis
I myself am anticipating a more active wheeling schedule this summer... hint hint hint...
;D
-
My 2 cents
We have a lot of trucks who have cleared this weekend
We have different levels of trucks
We have lots of different trails
We have lots of capable trail leaders
We have folks comming and going at different times of the weekend
So...we move the MAIN EVENT (Gold Moutain) to noon.
We can have an early run elsewhere for those who camped Friday night, or just like getting up at 4 AM
I still like the idea of a possible night run
I think having the jeeps there means we won't have the playground to ourselves but more of an event feeling, party on!
Nilda and I will be there all weekend, trailing Friday night til Sunday noon.
Trail, eat, trail, drink, sleep, trail, eat ,MAIN TRAIL, eat, trail, hike, eat, trail, drink, sleep, eat, trail, air up, go home
I'm locked and loaded for at least 5 trails, 2 pizzas and 9 beers.
I will be happy to lead on any easy to moderate trail (except that 6AM shift, see Marc ::))
I SHANT BE DETERRED BY THE JEEP!!! I like to think of them as OUR audience, Let's show 'em!
-
My vote is a noon start, same weekend, and Randy's buying the beer...although first 6 for him are on me with the infamous "bumper exchange." :D
Bottom line: going to be great seeing everyone up in Big Bear.
-
Woo Hoo!! I'd like to volunteer my campsite, #7, for a BBQ at 11am. I'll bring the hot dogs, chips, and beer.
Disclaimer: Please don't drink and rock crawl
Come one, come all.
Unless you're driving a Jeep, then you can kick rocks ;D
-
...Unless you're driving a Jeep, then you can kick rocks ;D
LOL, I see what you did there, and it make me LOL.
-
I hate to be a mood killer, esp cause I like the beer, but you guys might want to check the campsite rules. Some of the campsites do not allow alcohol. Just a heads up.
-
Disclaimer: Please don't drink and rock crawl
No alcohol on the trails durning SCCX Xcursions either.
BIG wet blanket... ;D
-
Oaky Doaky! No beer
-
Well, lets not become too puritan.. FWIW I drank at the Crab flats campground last year, dont recall it being an issue so i think we're good for 'after' trail suds.. ;)

yeah drunk wheeling wooooooooo hoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get outta my way boyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Does this mean we meet at Crab Flats instead of Von's?
-
Not sure we're gonna find Vonz after crab flats.. hopefully the beer doesn't have flats.. or the tires..
-
Does this mean we meet at Crab Flats instead of Von's?
Still meet up at Vons, depending on where anyone else might be staying/coming in from it's central to them and the trail head. Also a great time for anyone that wants to buy some stuff before we hit the trail.
Updated the OP with some more stuffs, also got the inside scoop on the Big Bear Forest Fest event too on there.
-
Oaky Doaky! No beer
Ray and Marc...just no brews on the trail during SCCX organized runs. ;D
I checked the USFS website for alcohol restrictions in the campsites, and there were none (drink responsibly). I would use common sense and pack cans (easier to pack out) instead of bottles.
A frosty social sparkler is always well received after a day on the trail. ;D
Here's a pic of the last MOD Day at Frodo's Garage...for some reason a bunch of Browns fans showed up? ???

Nick, great update to the first post. Nice that you checked in with the Forest Fest folks, and even better their response.
Maybe we should stop by and represent the Xterra Nation a little?

As per my posted schedule, 'drink' always comes after 'trail' and right before 'sleep'. Although some times I continue drinking into my sleep.
Ummmmm...dreaming of flowing beeeeeeeeeeeer. Oh no, I've wet the bag again!

Really!?!? I thought we were a drinking and off roading club??? We're not???? Really?!?!?!?
Surely I jest! Yes, John I did call you Surely.
I'm not bringing any beer on this trip. I promise! I don't want to make a bad first impression. Although, that might be a double edged sword. I am very much looking forward to meeting you guys and learning the ways of the force from such accomplished Jedi.
-
Red solo cup..
Lets have a parrty..
Party starts thursday..

Hung over wheelin in full effect!! This could, and will get ugly.

PML+2" Bodylift+33's in the last two weeks preparing for this trip almost there!!! dont think im going to get sliders before saturday tho, so maybe i should stay on the easier trail. what do you guys think? :'(

What times everyone leavin for the trail on Saturday ??
-
Had a really nice day pre-running Gold Mountain and Skyline Drive trails yesterday. NPGTech and Shi819 along with Arch'sX led a collective group of friends and family.
A few photos...
The Group surveys the first obstacle on Gold Mountain...we all commented on how rutted the trail had become:
Arch'sX made easy work of the bypass:

NPGTech routes through the byass on the first obstacle:

Gold Mountain is notorious for rocks:

GhostX three wheelin':

A stock Pro4X negotiates the first obstacle, John did a great job for his first time on Gold Mountain:
The second obstacle...a bit more tricky for sure:
Marc's Titan Swapped rig would shine all day, making quick work of the second obstacle:
This is where things got a "little interesting," GhostX spotting John through the second obstacle:
The carnage begins...just before the talus slope on Gold Mountain...cracked rear mud flaps:
-
We leap frogged with this group of lifted and modified Chevy's/4-Runners all day. Here they repaired a front suspension piece that broke and tore a hole in the passenger front tire...ball peen hammer and some tire plugs and on the way:
Now for the squeamish at heart, the next set of photos could cause you to turn away. When The Group hit the talus slope on Gold Mountain, we had high expectations of a smooth follow through. John, in the stock Pro4X had other ideas:

GhostX picked up a little "trail debris":
-
Fortunately, John had a good sense of humor (and a kind wife):
On to the green trail pre-run of Skyline drive:
This was a nice meandering fire road, with spectacular views along the way. This was a spot that we all thought would make a nice mid-point photo op/geocache/lunch break/leg stretching point:
NPGTech wrapped things up by breaking out the Club banner:
-
It was a very casual day with a good dose of trail carnage. I took out my Gobi ladder backing into a tree limb negotiating obstacle #2 on Gold Mountain, placing a very nice dent in my roof and destroying the ladder (which we removed).
John however, in the stock Pro4X, despite some good spotting and over all trail escorting, took the most "damage":
-Torn front bumper
-Broken drivers side fog light
-Dented fender and door
-Ripped out drivers side fender liner
-Crushed and torn trailer plug and mount
He also had the best attitude along with a lightened wallet later with the repairs/mods to soon follow.
The weather was spectacular, with temps in the mid 60's all day, very sunny, and very dust trail conditions (read dry) all day.
Gold Mountain with four trucks took the group just over 4 hours to cover, hitting the trail around 11am and departing at 3pm. Skyline Drive was a quick trail with 5 trucks (Shi819 left her truck at the Gold Mountain trail head, wise move).
A great day for wheeling with a good group.
-
It was a great day of wheeling. Sadly my brother in law's truck is a little worse for wear. Those of you who are running stock vehicles, I would take a look at the pics. The trail is a lot more craggy than it was when people ran it in the past. John and I will be running Skyline Drive at the same time as the others are doing Gold Mountain on Saturday. It's a beautiful 13 mile trail with some fantastic places to take pictures and geocache. While I wish my truck could handle Gold Mountain, I wont be there til I get my Frontier, so dirt roads for me it is :P.
Please PM me or John and let us know if you are interested in running Skyline Drive with us. We will have the same meet spot/time and it is 2wd capable if more people are interested in joining now. For those of you who have never geocached either, we will be doing some of that as well. Im looking forward to it and seeing all of you this weekend. Will be a blast! :)
-
The weather was definitely a plus this past weekend. The trails are pretty spread out as far as the challenge level. Skyline is most definitely 2wd friendly, and Gold Mountian, in my opinon, requires some type of armor, lift and sliders (review pics above). There will be some "SCCX" club stickers available. Get with GhostX for pricing and find us this weekend! Hope to see you all out there!
-
Yup folks, take it from me... the guy with the customized, aerodynamic, ORW low drag modified bumper (besides who really needs fender liners anyway), don't take your stock X up gold mountain. I was fortunate to have some of the best wheelers with me to guide and help, and still the talus slope still decided to promote modifications. :P
Funny thing is, while going across the slope with GhostX behind me, I spot this large piece of plastic in my side view mirror and remember thinking "gee, where did that come from?"
-
For those of you unsure about attending the Gold Mountain run based upon capability, we can all meet at the Von's in Big Bear on Saturday.
At that point Nick and I can take a look at your rig and have a discussion based upon what is best.
We will have Ham operators on both runs, so we will be in touch the whole afternoon.
The Skyline Dr. group will also be doing a little geocaching (if you haven't done this, we can help showcase this fun game, great for kids and adults alike), as well as taking in the sights, and then heading to the Forest Fest to check that out as well.
Depending on the Gold Mountain groups trail time, we can either meet them at the Forest Fest, or back at the Crab Flats campground.
To all attending, we have made/posted a lot of jokes regarding alcohol consumption etc, the bottom line is this is a family friendly event, and everything enjoyed in moderation is a good thing.
Very much looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend, this is almost a guaranteed good time!
-
PML+2" Bodylift+33's in the last two weeks preparing for this trip almost there!!! dont think im going to get sliders before saturday tho, so maybe i should stay on the easier trail. what do you guys think? :'(
See my above post, come on up and we will get you situated on the best trail for your truck/capabilities. :)
-
What times everyone leavin for the trail on Saturday ??
Ryan...we meet at 11am, and depart for the trails 30-45 minutes afterward.
-
Reminder: don't stress about last minute supplies.
Part of the reason for the meet spot choice is to make it easy for everyone to grab last minute ice/gum/sodas/snacks/sunscreen etc. at the Vons.
-
I just checked the online reservation system and as of *NOW* there were still 7 spaces available for FRIDAY NIGHT ONLY. Saturday the site is completely booked.
Click HERE (http://www.recreation.gov/camping/Crab_Flats/r/campsiteCalendar.do?page=calendar&search=site&criteria=new&contractCode=NRSO&parkId=70790&topTabIndex=Search) to go directly to the page where you can reserve. :)
Note: The link is for the Crab Flats campground only. There are some others near by but they will fill up fast. :)
-
Fun pre-run, thanks for includin me.. am confident we will be able to get all intersted through the run no major issues on Sat.. If you don't have minimum requirements (see OP) expect trail mods.. i will be taking deposits for my new tube bumper immediately following.. hahaa
My official non joking take on the partying and booze in general is moderation. I will likely have my 4 3/4 year old daughter with me and even if not i typically drink moderately. I enjoy sunrise.. we all will enjoy the weekend..
-
It pays to be a ham....
Soooooooo tonight I'm lurking as usual on Keller Peak and I overhear a conversation with someone at Crab Flats. Turns out its the site manager. I now have his callsign and have chatted and emailed with him now. Turns out there is a site that is available but NOT listed on any online reservation system. He's apparently tried to get that fixed on the website for 3 years.
ANYWHO, he said that there are still some sites available for first come-first served walk ups. Early morning arrival is recommended if you want a slot. Oh, and coffee/danish will help smooth the process. If you book directly with him, there is no transaction fee, just a straight $18.
Tonight many of the available sites are showing that you have to walkup and reserve opposed to booking online, however, with a few refreshes and back and forths, I've been able to make the system allow me to reserve a slot, so try that if you don't want to be up and at Crab Flats at some ugly hour on Friday morning. :)

Also, just a heads up. I am not sure if this has been mentioned or not in this thread, but if you stop on the trails, you will need a Forest Adventure Pass. There are multiple places that you can purchase the pass on the mountain. I believe, and don't hold me to this that they are $5 for the day or $30 for the year. You can also get 2 year passes for $35.

Just to clarify, that's 2 vehicles for 1 year. First one is $30 and second one is $5. And you are correct Shi, the day pass is $5.
LINK (http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/r5/passes-permits/recreation/?cid=stelprdb5208418&width=full) to info on passes. You active Military types and Dependents also get a shiny free pass for some stuff so look into that and thanks for your service! :)
-
Oh, just to make it official, I'll be there but not camping as I'm local. Probably hang out though. Think I'll pass on Gold Mountain this time. :P
Will have 1-3 additional with me.
-
Is it Friday yet?????
-
Looks like I mixed up my camping reservations...so I won't be camping with the group. I will be driving up early Saturday morning, and then staying in town somewhere that night.
Definitely will hang out at Crab Flats after the run for some campfire/bench racing time. :)
-
Stay at my campsite #1. takes 2 vehicles and 8 people. Plenty of room for like 3-4 tents. Just dont bring more than 6 people k?

Okay thanks.
I will need to make some calls, the Swedish Bikini Team was caravaning up with me...but I'll cancel now.

Hey there is an outside chance my plans may change on Saturday. Would you be able to take another Wheeler on your Gold Mountain run?
-
Double check with NPGTech Terry, but I don't see why not with the split groups we are running.
Would be great to see the dual locked X-terra in action.
-

Do you have skids and sliders?
-
Got
-full skids (except gas tank which has stock gas skid).
-arb bumper
-white knuckle sliders
-2" lift
-firestone destination A/T C load
-
forgot to mention my problematic Air locker thats been fixed LOL..
-
Hey Steve, sounds like you are good for the GM run. What ended up being the problem with your ARB locker?
-
just tones of money poured into that rear end LOL.. thats my problem!
The first installer had to redo it 3 times to get it right, but by then, the rubber o-ring had pinched and got damaged from so many cycles of install. That got it leaking air.
To double make sure it was done right, I paid full price at 4wheel parts for install to just find out that everything was done correctly but that the o-ring was damaged hence leaking air.
o-ring that goes on the carrier.

I'm in for sure! Just talked to Crab Flats staff and they are booked solid for the weekend. Good news is there are some first come first serve sites available but who knows how that will work out. Bummer is that i have a 2 and a half hr drive up there and back.. Might be Hotel-ing it in town.lol They also said that the adventure pass ( or 5$ dollar thingy) is only if you are going to be hiking off trail. Cant wait to meet y-all. Good times.........
-
Hey Nick,
As of right now I am a confirmed please. Looking forward to seeing all of you again...

Nick and I are going to pick up the munchkin and come up the hill after work. We should be there around 8ish (depending on traffic). See you all soon. :)
-
I'm going to put it out there again. If anybody from the OC or places West traveling the 91 want to caravan Saturday morning, I will be at the Coco's off the 91 at Green River around 8:00 AM and will head out around 8:30. It would be cool if we could get a few trucks to roll together like the Jeep guys do.
-
I will be in camp on Saturday morning...probably just enough time to unpack and head to the meet spot.
-
hey guys I got a question about food...
For those of you camping tonight and tomorrow night, are you each taking your own food? or are we all going to pitch in for a bbq???

Unfortunately , I am out. Sucks! We are busy at work, people on vacation and now I have to cover tomorrow. I am very dissappointed to not be able to wheel with you folks! See you next time. I also regret not being able to try out the new meats. Have fun and be safe

Anyone interested in running hitting up either Clark's Summit (20-ish miles trail), or Jacoby Canyon (2.9 miles). Clark's Summit is actually 30 some odd miles, long, but that's from the actual trail head. I would suggest hitting it up from Skyline drive to Clark's Summit then back onto Skyline Drive. Skyline is considered an easy trail, with Gold Mountain being a difficult trail, both Clark and Jacoby are considered Moderate with Clark being a little more difficult of the two. We'll chat about it tonight/tomorrow, Shi819 and I are out the door here in a bit. Just figured I would throw another trail idea for anyone that is staying until Sunday. See ya'll tonight/tomorrow!

I'm bringing 2 dozen Hot Dogs and I'm not expecting to go home with them. So eat as many as you want just leave a couple for me and the wife.

A great time was had by all...new members drshankles, totkid760, HEVAK, Lupinone, and CAWoody, along with RBduffer, SoCalX_tl11, Arch'sX, NPGTech, Shi819, GhostX, and usko99 ran around Big Bear for three days.
Post up your photos here: http://www.sccxterra.com/smf/index.php/topic,1291.0.html

I just wanted to say WHAT A BLAST IT WAS!!!
This past weekend was easily my most favorite way to spend a Father's Day weekend. Thanks to all those that helped out with either pre-runs, trail organizations, spotting, overall great attitude of all participants for this run. It was definitely a great time, and what I love about our SCCX community we have here. I especially want to thank GhostX and usko99 for their persistent attempts at getting ArchX back on the road.
Such a great group of people, I'm thankful for being a part of the SCCX family. I definitely hope to see ya'll out on the trails again, or to wrench on your rigs (if needed of course ;))
Let's make sure that this weekend isn't the last great weekend for the SCCX crew!!
