We made it back safe and sound!!!
Unfortunately, due to computer issues <oh, a nasty virus that ate my entire HD while I was gone
>, I have not been able to upload pictures or videos of our amazing time, but WE ROCKED THAT PLACE'S FACE OFF!!!
Trails conquered include:
Broken Arrow
Soldier's Pass
Schnebly Hill
Diamond Back Gultch
Mingus Road
Dry Creek Road
We shot tons of GOPRO footage and many cell phone pics....they'll get posted soon enough.
Things we learned:
The campsite map on reserve.gov was a bit.....misleading. But, it worked.
There is TONS of free camping just outside the city if you know where to look, and now we do...
Thanksgiving morning was not as empty as we expected.....in truth, it was probably the busiest day on the trails.....too many pink jeep tours to mention....plus the odd scrub in a rent-a-heep telling me to slow down....(YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME BUDDY)
Jordan (Knightrider) was brave enough to accept the challenge and I had a friend who was willing to tag along.
We met up with Eric from AZXC on Saturday when we mastered 3 trails; Mingus Rd, Broken Arrow at dusk and then Diamond Back Gulch.....quite the trifecta!
All in all a great time was had.....and, even though no CHEWDONKEY'S were seen on the trials (probably too cold for them), we did manage to paint our rigs pink from all the clay we
plowed.....err.....slowly drove over.
Another awesome SCCX event in the books!!!
