Can anyone identify this thing?????
« on: August 04, 2018, 09:55:57 AM »
Hey All,
New here. noticed this thing next to my rearview mirror. Its on the passenger side mounted to the windshield or the rearview mirror mount. Looks like an upside down walkie talkie and is black with a button (Self destruct device maybe??? LOL).

Anyone?

Kinda looks like an antenna for remote start and/or alarm.
We don't need no remote start in SoCal lol

It's good for cooling off the interior when it's 100 degs outside. Lol I had mine installed by the dealer when I bought the truck in NoDak in April. I used it a handful of times for the cold there, then I got orders here a month later.

Maybe he bought the vehicle from an Italian.  Remote starters can come in handy if you think someone may have added some extra "stuff" to your ride when you weren't looking.

RikRong....
You sir would be correct! She came with a 3rd remote entry button bank. Original owner had her in Alaska. She is also fitted with a core heater. I have been telling people she is a ELECTRIC X.... LOL

Looks like I have some multimeter work to do!!!!!!! Starting at the fusebox..

For the record I don't really need the leather heated seats in SoCal, But I will be using them the one or 2 days a year when it is cold!  lol

Cold in SoCal? I've never seen it. Lol I never use heated seats, even in the cold. I'm just not a fan of how they feel.

We (my wife and I) actually have come to like the heated seats.  Our Pro-4X has the cloth heated seats, and they have come in handy on few of our road trips.

FrankB,
Thanks for the support... My Boss also liked the idea of heated seats. I have dragged her out to big bear in the snow and she vividly remembers how cold the seats were....
