UPDATE!!!! Just talked to my insurance co. and they are estimating 4,000$ repair.. Witch means it's not a total loss and ORANGE X will be coming to a trail near you soon. ;D They are going to replace rear axle with a wrecking yard one (that they already have found) that has less mileage then the one I have, Rear Bilsteins, Rear after market leaf springs and u bolts, they are going to send wheels out to get checked and buffed out if they have to replace they will, quarter panel work, and side steps..Plus they are paying for rental car and waving my deductible.. The body shop says 3 weeks.. I am stoked..... ::)

Sweet!  You will be soooooo happy when you finally get it back all fixed and pretty again!!!  The rental car thing is great news too......I didn't get one and it drove me crazy.
This isn't Santa's Workshop.  This place smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me.

This is great news Chad, I know how much your X means to you!

I got your voicemail, maybe we can meet up early next week or possibly this Sunday, and I can grab the CB from you for the 15th.  I will give you a call.

UPDATE: So I have been told twice now that they can fix it, and twice now that they can't. They called today and said its a total loss with the estimate at 10,184$ and the value at 11,600$. NOT ACCEPTABLE I told them and asked to speak to supervisor.. He then proceeds to give me 3 options. Total loss=check to me for 11,600$, Cash out on estimate=they give me a check for the price if estimate and i pay body shop myself and receive a salvage title. I say UNACCEPTABLE to this to because if they find more damage down the road I am out of pocket.3rd option was to call Farmers (people who hit me insurance) and have them look at it and maybe they will be able to not call a total loss and fix it.. Then I mention to the supervisor "What if I get a second opinion from another body shop, maybe the estimate will be less" and he says " well, if you take it to one of our body shops I GUARANTEE we can save it, and it won't be a total loss" Why the hell didn't they tell me this 2 weeks ago? I don't give a shit who fixes it, i just want it done..........So it got towed to a new shop today and tomorrow they will re inspect it and hopefully start the damn work..... Ok I feel better now. Sorry.. Off to Baja I go tomorrow to kill some fish and a lot of beers...

Sorry to hear you going through all this trouble bro!

If I were in your shoes, I would get them make it total loss, and deal with them to give you around 13k.  With that money, great opportunity to upgrade to a used second gen X or maybe new pro4x if you were to be willing to make payments for a while.   All in all considering if you don't have much sentimental values for it.... ;)

Don't get too stressed.  things happen often because it was meant to be!!!! (an upgrade to 2nd gen) ;)
