Amazon "Prime Day" deals... post them here!
« on: July 11, 2017, 11:17:34 AM »
Not sure how many folks are Amazon Prime members, but today is "Prime Day." It is very difficult to follow everything that Amazon has on any given day, and Prime Day is even worse. So if you happen to see a great deal for Amazon Prime members and wanted to share it with the group, post it here!

I found this DC Battery Pack/Power Supply unit for $115, regularly $300. It has inputs to charge from solar panels, or regular AC/DC plugs. It's not the coolest product in the world, but not a terrible price for a 40800 mAh deep cycle battery pack. Kind of weird that they call it a "generator," which it is not. https://www.amazon.com/100-Watt-Portable-Generator-Inverter-40800mAh/dp/B01M3S00H0/ref=sr_1_23?s=prime-day&psr=PDAY&ie=UTF8&qid=1499796297&sr=1-23&keywords=camping&th=1

The Camco "Little Red Campfire" is also only $95 bucks after a 20% instant savings at checkout. This is normally about $130: https://www.amazon.com/Camco-58031-Campfire-Portable-Propane/dp/B000O51VJ0/ref=sr_1_151?s=prime-day&psr=PDAY&ie=UTF8&qid=1499796939&sr=1-151&keywords=camping

 lol Nice!

I managed to escape the day with just two purchases. A pair of Levi 559 Jeans for $25 bucks (a bargain!), and a BaoFeng BV-82HP handheld VHF/UHF radio for $40 (normally about $65). I've avoided the cheap radios like the plague, but I've gotten sick of dropping and breaking my Yaesu FT-60 radios when I'm photographing fires (I just dropped and broke my 3rd one in the past 5 years). It's not built for the kind of abuse I give it, so I figured I'd carry a $40 cheapie around with me instead and if I break it, it won't be as big of a deal as breaking the $160 one. The only thing that sucks is that it can't monitor VHF air band, so I won't be able to listen to the firefighting planes with it.  :-\
