Mojave Road - Question
« on: December 02, 2015, 09:03:09 AM »
So...working on a "little" side project...and need some help from the regs here at SCCX.

When you think of an iconic part of TMR...what do you think of?

School buses?

Joshua Trees?

Mailboxes?

Frogs?

Post up...lemme know.

And thanks...GhostX  >:D

Well...are we talking about the environment, or the trip itself?  Do the people count?  The campfires?

Or are you referring to parts of the preserve we check out?

Assuming iconic parts of the trail itself...

* Fort Piute and the cottonwoods in the canyon there (especially in fall when the colors change)
* Penny Tree
* Frogs Pond
* Crossing Soda Lake
* Banana splits at the soda fountain at Kelso Depot
* Mail box
* Travelers Monument on Soda Lake
* The Mojave River crossings at the train tracks/Rasor area
* Afton Canyon badlands
* The lava tubes out in the cinder cone area

Something that could be easily illustrated in a logo...gnomes?  >:D

Thanks Cass & Christiaan for the early responses. 8)

Ohhh...ok

Lava tubes are pretty damn cool, and specific to that trip ie. I wouldn't know where else to find them...

The penny can and school bus are iconic as well...

Finding it hard to render lava tubes for a logo...leaning towards frogs, gnome, or school bus.  Joshua tree is up there too...

FROGS > GNOMES > JOSHUA TREE

maybe a joshua tree with a frog on one limb and a gnome on the other?

Easiest gnome/logo, very symbolic and at the heart of the trip:  Fire Jinga

Well...Googling around, frogs are everywhere...the gnome means "Travel Site" to most...mailbox doesn't render well in illustrated logo format.

However, playing with the school bus and Joshua Tree, as they are an iconic stop we have made every year...

You know....I bet you could even shop in a frog and a gnome into a shot like that....like, little easter eggs that aren't totally obvious, but if you look closer, you'll see them!??!

For me, it's the river crossings and the train bridge...

Should be pretty easy to incorporate a silhouette of a bridge like this into a logo. :D

Maybe a bridge in the background, with a Joshua tree, frog and school bus in the foreground?
