Title: Anybody have a spare 2004 wheel?
Post by: (Sir)JohnOfFullerton on August 03, 2015, 11:31:41 AM
So this happened today while my wife was driving...

I happen to now be in the market for a new wheel or set... Anybody have anything appropriate they're looking to offload?

Ouch! That little piece of string did all that damage?  :o

Seriously though, what the heck did she hit?

You know the line they're trying to make the space elevator from? I'm guessing it's that :)

Honestly though, she has no idea, must have been angle iron or something. She's a good driver and swears she didn't see anything. I'm guessing a car next to her kicked it up.

Just pulled the trigger on a set of 235/85R16 KO2s from Americas Tire (shameless plug for Rudy in Fullerton who HOOKED IT UP). He's getting me a matching rim too, all will be in tomorrow. Looking forward to posting some photos once it's all on and I've painted the new rim.

Dig the name change...sux about the tire. At least your upgrading.

Dang that's a nasty slice through the tire. But good to hear you got it worked out! And yes, that's definitely the fitting name change. :)

So my new tires are on, still trying to figure out if I like the look or not. What I do like is how easy it is to turn the wheel now, steering is way nice on a rig with subpar steering to start with. Tires are 235/85R16 KO2s. Seriously, Americas Tire in Fullerton was awesome to work with on this. They handled my incessant calling and questioning with some impressive patience.

Hey John.

I'm a lurker on this site, been a silent member for a while.  I'm looking to upgrade my tires as well on my daily driver and was thinking about these tires.  What are your thoughts on them?

I think John's in Peru right now.

He won't shut up about how awesome they are.  If that's any indication, I think he likes them :D

Hey! Yes, big fan of the tires, can't shut up about em. They grab really nicely, road manners are way better imo, they're responsive too. They were also a solid $200+ cheaper than 265/75r16. Happy purchaser here.

Buying them again would be such a no-brainer, even Steve C could do it.

I ended up pulling the trigger on a set of 265/75R16 KO2s.  I really like them.  I agree with your comment about road manners.(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/17/8247d7c1dd9f5d4623fa71dc907658b0.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/17/ff721f420b00058b670938c291e270e9.jpg)

I now have 2 Bfg Long Trail 265/70R16s I need to get rid of.  They have about 30k miles on them.  Wanted to post here on this forum before I hit craigslist.  Rather they go to someone here.
