Ok, we all need to get out.
Fiesta Island meet up or whatever.
Fourth is coming but that sounds like a terrible idea, the weekend after or something. I know Jay, Randy and I have kayaks, if anyone else wants to join bring em.
We can do a potluck, everyone bring a lil something or eat your own food, I don't care.
What say you?

I'd love to meet up with everyone if I can fit it in. I only have about two more weeks until I head off to the Northern lands of our nation for the summer.

I think the location of the last one was a good spot so maybe we go back there unless anyone has a better spot?

Well this sucks. I've just been told a have to extend my business trip to Bend to the 14th. :( I'm sorry I'm going to miss this Fiesta. :'(

Actually, it's been 25 years since I was there last and the place has really changed. There are some really nice areas once you get a few miles West of the highway.

Fiesta Island is an old landfill they dumped a whole lot of sand on. There isn't really anything there other than a place to picnic or fish etc. There are kayak rentals close though. There are more up and down the coast but these are easy to get to and if you are feeling energized at the end of this you can paddle back to turn it in.

Dang I have to miss this one. I am 2 hrs away from Truckee right now. Going to spend the week and a half up here.

Looks like I'll have to miss this one, too. Sorry everyone. I had already committed to another event on Saturday afternoon. I MIGHT drive down there in the morning just to say hi, but I'm not 100% sure if I'll make it.
The wife and boy will be out of town. Ironically, they'll be in Bend, OR. They're leaving Saturday morning and won't be back until Tuesday. I'm raising my eyebrow in suspicion, Woody lol

Make sure they know it's hot then hell up here. Last week was 109, next week will be touching 100.
Are they coming here by choice or are you sending them away.

They're going by choice. Her grandmother lives in Bend along with a bunch of her aunts and uncles and cousins. Her and her mom usually go up there to visit every 2 years or so. Her grandmother turns 92 years old next week, and this will probably be her last chance to go visit her. The grandmother is doing pretty well overall, but when you're that old, you're definitely on borrowed time.
Jessica is well aware of the heat up there right now. None of her family up there have AC, so she actually got a hotel room at the Best Western just to have a nice cool room to retire to.

Are the Coordinates posted at the begging of this thread still the meet spot. This will be my first time here. Will it be pretty easy to find you guys or should i grab someone’s number to call when down there?

Once you go onto Fiesta Island take the immediate right. Follow that around for about a mile or so. Once you wrap around back towards the south start looking out on your right for some built up Xterras. If you miss them it's a huge circle around and you will come back around to where we are. Shouldn't be hard to
moss miss Fiesta Island is pretty small and there won't be any other group of us out there tomorrow.
