Trails to run 2019
« on: February 19, 2019, 07:42:39 PM »
I watched this youtube video and really liked it. Some of these trails here people have experience running. I was wondering if we could put one or two of these on our to-do list this year or even into 2020? I really liked the Death Valley trails as I have had no time there running trails. Any trail leader volunteers? I like the idea of getting AWAY from people other than those we travel with. I'm going back to the Rubicon for trip #3 this summer but after that I really want to get a Dusy Ershim trail run put together. I know many here may not be interested in that type of thing and that's ok, I'm just putting it out there for people who may be of the same mind.

The first part of that Death Valley trip was almost exactly where I went a few years ago.
100% would go back.  It's seriously awesome out there.

The Death Valley trip is the Rogue Overland did last winter.  Even I thought it was a beautiful trip.  Warning, the roads are very rocky and most of the camping areas are too.  If you have a RTT you'll be fine.  Not a lot of areas for tents.  Butte Valley is incredible.

Any chance we could get you to lead a trail into those parts? Maybe fall when it starts cooling off from the summer?

I can see if the Rogue guys can send me the map they used.  Remember I didn't finish that trip due to illness.  I got as far as Warm Springs then headed out the Death Valley Hwy.

Would be more than happy to lead a group through Death Valley again depending on timing. Know the area very well

That would be awesome, but aren't you about to have a baby Vuk?
Missed you in AZ.  Great trip.

I would really like to go on that sort of trip. I'm mainly interested in getting as far away from civilization for as long as possible exploring the remote areas out there. If we have to get over some obstacles to avoid the crowds I'm all for it.

If you guys are interested in some new trails to explore the area around Shaver Lake has a lot to offer.  It might be a little far North for the SoCal folks but definitely worth looking into.

I've done a small amount of wheeling out there and it's beautiful. That's also near the beginning of the Dusy Ershim that I'm trying to put together a trip on.

Hey, was just reading earlier today that 10 mile lake currently has a ton of water in it!
