I had a great 3 day weekend in Death Valley. I traveled alone and checked out Chloride City then met friends in the Beatty area Thursday night. Friday we explored Rhyolite and headed down the just opened Titus Canyon. After a quick stop at Stovepipe wells we went up Lemoigne Canyon, (a very rough road) After spending the night there we headed up to Skidoo and explored all over the maze of roads there. Next we visited Aguerebery Point with a stop at the Eureka Mine, Harrisburg Ghost Town. After that we checked out the charcoal kilns which we much bigger than I had thought. From there we may or may not have gone down to Panamint Valley via Wildrose Road and headed up Jail Canyon (a very rough road) and spent the night there. Sunday we made a stop at Ballarat and Trona for gas and cruised around the Pinnacles. Made a quick stop at the fish heads and again at the massive VW graveyard and made it home around 6 PM.

Looks like a pretty successful trip there, loved the photos!

Amazing photos Jeff. I love the old 10 stamp mill. I've seen that yellow Xterra on the highway before, when I was on my way back from Big Bear. I can't remember exactly what trip it was, but I think it was about 7 or 8 months ago.
What's with all the VWs? Is that some kind of boneyard where they're keeping all the diesels they have to buy back?

The Yellow X is Dave's who comes to the meetups fairly often. He lives in San Marcos so you may see him on 15. The VWs are at the Logistics Airport in Adelanto and are the horrible polluters that were ruining the earth much worse than the millions of old cars and trucks on the road. Have you noticed we had massive amounts of snow in the Sierras since they were taken off the roads. They are awaiting the grinder we were told. The guard thought there is about 7-9000 cars there now and they are nearly full. We stopped there a month ago and they just started and probably had 500 cars at that time. There are some Audi's as well.

This made me chuckle...

Let's plan a 3 or 4 day SCCX trip. 8) I'd be down to help plan/coordinate.

Limit it to 8 trucks, a group that can fit around one campfire, and no name tags and I'm down.
