Title: An RV recovery
Post by: Kjswa on February 12, 2018, 09:07:09 AM
On the way home from a trip out in the Colorado desert, a friend and I ran across a retired couple that had beached their RV attempting to turn around. The next two hours were a great lesson on why it's important to be self sufficient.  The folks in the RV weren't setup to be on anything other then a hard packed dirt road.  I've used a snatch strap & maxtraxx before but never on anything bigger than the Xterra. Couldn't have moved the RV without either of them. The hilarious thing was the half dozen or so other vehicles that passed by as we were digging hardly pretended to notice the situation. But just so it's known an Xterra with the right strap can move 15,000 lbs!

Well done,

I never would of thought of turning the RV upside down to get it out of the sand 8)

The roof is probably smoother than the underside so I can see why that would help.

I think the better question would be what kind of tires are they running that would give that much grip that it could stay in the sand upside down?

You do a good deed, and one guy responds.

You jack a thread and everyone responds.

I love this group ;)
