We encourage creativity; if you can think of it, post up and we'll figure out a way to make it...

Participation in this is not mandatory; do not get me wrong.

If you do not want to partake, that is ok by me and the group won't bat an eye-lash....but, your tummy might hold it against you!!

For now, I just want ideas....what are you good at making?  Could you make it hundreds of miles out in the middle of nowhere?


We usually have plenty of burners/cooking surfaces available, with fuel to go around.....and we even have access to a convection oven for all of your baking needs!!!!  Not kidding!

Cannot wait for this!!! I'm hungry already!!!

I can make beef stew in the Dutch oven that will serve 7 easily. If someone else has a large oven they can bring I'll supply the vittles and do the work so 14 can easily be fed. I can do trail beans as a side for a dinner and/or breakfast.

    If you don't want to bring anything, kick in a 2-3 lb share and I'll haul it in.
    The Asada runs about $6/lb and has made an appearance on a few SCCX runs.
    I'll kick it off with 3lbs.

We can also do chicken if there is enough interest.

I have no specific specialty, as it has been a long time since I've camped.  So, I will contribute to a mass meal(s).  How much meat will we need to feed the group?  I'll kick in 3 more lbs, and I'll contribute on other meals, as they pop up.

I'll bring a hefty portion of Bacon of the Gods, enough for both Saturday and Sunday morning. I'll also bring the 3 burner stove and 38" griddle for the bacon to cook on, but I'll need a chef to handle that (I always end up burning it or undercooking it). Then we can use another griddle (Steve's or John's?) for the pancakes.

I'll kick in the chicken and tortillas.  This time lets try to keep them away from the local critters.  I'm sure the Big Bear squirrels appreciated the homemade corn tortillas. ;)

I believe It's for April,

January is a fend for yourself , because of the group size being doubled 
You can pick your nose & you can pick your friends,   But you can't wipe your friends under the couch

My apologies....I didn't differentiate between the 2 runs when I first posted...but I did update it, and yes, it applies to the later run in April

I don't know exactly what I'll cook yet, but I'm definitely in for cooking a part of the group meals. :)

You certainly can if you'd like, and I'll absolutely agree with the bacon-cooking statement, as I experienced that greatness first hand in DV. So the griddle shall be yours! :)

The pack that I pick up from Sam's Club (and was planning to bring on this trip) is is 3.5 lbs. The pack that I brought to DV was only a pound, so I was planning to bring about 4 times as much. 30ish people x 2 breakfasts / 3.5 lbs of bacon = 2 to 4 slices per person per morning, but there's NEVER a such thing as too much bacon! :D (If you're like me, you were thinking "only 4 slices each!?!?")

Trouble is, should I just get a complete second pack and take it up to 7 lbs? I wouldn't want to see it go to waste. I might be able to track down some more 1 lb. packs at Winco if we want to bump it up to about 5.5 lbs?
