Hey.... I am not the one with pretty pictures on my computer, just waiting for the opportunity to show them off with a thinly veiled attempt to pass them off belittling another member... LOL
However I will be taking the mansion.... SOOOOOOOO Pretty!
Am I allowed on this trip?
Ok, sign me up!

( I'll Help You )
My youngest son, Dylan (aka DangerWillRob) would like to join us with his Frontier Pro4x. He can carry the old railroad ties for the mega fire jenga.
Will be my first time with the group, but yeah, excited sign me up! Looking forward. Will there be tons of mud like that 2018 trip with Rogue, and will I need a snorkel, don't have one?
In my opinion, I think it might be a feat to get that many people to NY Mt. In one day. If this is the way we end up going, I still would recommend going our traditional route. Last year we skipped Jackass Canyon and rode the rail line all the way to Kelso. While it was nice avoiding the whoops, it took a lot of fun out of the trip. We left around 9am, and made it to camp around 2 if I remember correctly.Very Cool making the mark at the mailbox, I'll bring JB Weld
If we split the group up, I can help Jay with the lava tubes.
In preparation of the trip, I ordered this for our place at the mailbox.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190603/719a3e24b5414bf703026d5809264e94.jpg)

I would like to go if there is room. My son should be old enough to do a multi day by then
Don't think I need a room but if I get the time off I could probably go back through the desert.
Put me down for a room in Laughlin.
Posting for the Winter Mojave Rd, January 17th thru the 20th 2020 over MLK weekend. I'm planning on the West to East route and staying at the Golden Nugget in Laughlin NV. It has nice accommodations and they give us a pretty good discount. If there is interest in doing a return trip either along the trail or a modified run I will entertain that too. I was originally thinking about a smaller group but in discussion with Jayrat he brought to my attention there has been a decent amount of new members so I'm opening it up for everyone. If we have to we can run two groups on the trail to accommodate vehicle limitations. The ones who have been on this trip before know how things go and how much fun it is. Those that are interested can preview the previous year's links. If you are interested post up. I know life gets in the way sometimes but if you decide you want to go towards the end please stay firm in that decision. It costs money for the trail leader(s) for permits, incidentals and time allotted in planning etc.
As in before the big rules are:
1: Have a great attitude, don't take yourself too seriously.
2: Show up with a reasonably maintained vehicle with front and rear recovery points.
3: Bring plenty (Lots) of firewood.
I could care less if you have a HAM radio, FRS, Walkie Talkie or just start waiving your hands like a maniac for attention. This trip is about getting together with friends who enjoy the high desert in winter conditions. Most everyone has the right gear but if you don't post that up. Someone will have an extra something to loan you. I would prefer you have a 4WD but would entertain a 2WD as long as you have the recovery points I mentioned and good AT style tires. Everyone is on the hook for their own meals. If you want to have smaller group meals that's between you and your buddy as nothing will be formally organized. It's just plain too difficult to have group feeds with breakdown possibilities and the unknown of the weather. I don't want starving people eating half frozen chow at 2200, I'm sure you get the idea.
It's a good idea to bring along an additional 5 gallons of fuel (Or more) if you have a built vehicle that's not so great with the MPG's. The trail is roughly 130 to 160 miles. Bring enough water to last you the length of the trip as there are no facilities along the entire route. If you are concerned about where to put your beer, I will see if I can't make some room in my fridge to accommodate you. I know, I know a selfless act but a trail leader must make some sacrifices. In years past I have not heard any complaints about the trip or how it's run. At least not by anyone that's not still 6' under out there but that's a different story altogether. This trip is by design to get families together in a semi-rugged environment and use all that snivel gear you have piled up in your closets and have a whole lot of fun. Oh yeah, NO SODA LAKE...............nope, nope, nope not gonna do it NOPE!

I'm an analog guy in a digital world so I hope I'm doing this right! I'm in for a hotel if it is night of the 20th depart the 21st. Is that correct?
Yes we are coming back on the 21st. We will roll into Laughlin on the early evening of the 20th and head out the next morning. Don't worry about being Analong in a Digital world you will fit in just fine withtheseTHIS guys.
FIFY ;D
Maybe we can get a couple extra SCCX stickers and put one inside the book?
Maybe one of the patches from Joe and some JB Weld?
I'll gladly donate a patch for that purpose
I'll gladly donate a patch for that purposei would like to purchase a couple more , for giveaway items please
I'm in 🙋♂️So far we are full for the permits etc. I can add you to the waitlist if you like?
Is there room for another? Put me on the wait list pls, I know, late in the game. Thx!
You are added to the list. As to the mud it's very difficult to say as that depends largely upon how much rain there is next winter. Either way it will not be like the 2018 run because we are bypassing Soda Lake as it's just too dangerous in the winter and caustic to the vehicles. You definitely will not need a snorkel. In the first post I set the general requirements and they are few. If you have further questions it's fine to ask as I want to make sure everyone going is as prepared as necessary. This trip is a whole lot of fun and has thus far been very successful with the great folks that go.
On post #51 it shows you wanting to go and you are already listed #20. Did something change I'm unaware of? I'm assuming you still want the spot right?
Please add to waiting list.
Please add to waiting list.
Yay! Carjeep!Hell ya East to West
Also, Celt I just remembered.
East to west trip. Start in Laughlin, end in Afton.
O0
I look forward to crossing the water in Afton, so it would be a bummer to miss that.
If we are going East to West, I will definitely will be in for at least 2 rooms. I will reach out to Fire Ninja and #2 to see what they want to do.
It's a pretty far drive from SoCal to not stay the night before. I recommend everyone joining us.
Cheap gas , Breakfast burritos & Fireworks all in one place
AVI parking lot LOL >:D

Since this will be my first trip, I'll leave it to the experts to determine if east to west or west to east works best. I'm also still in for the hotel room…front end of trip or backend either way.
I think we have enough interest in going East to West on the trip so that's what were going to do. Thanks for the input guys![ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
So the new plan would be
Friday 1/17 Stay in Laughlin
Saturday 1/18 hit Mojave Rd.
Monday 1/20 arrive Afton Canyon / Head home
Is this correct
Either way we go were still doing the water crossing.
Will this water crossing require a snorkel? I don’t have one yet.I was stock my 1st year the only upgrade was 33" tyres
Thanks guys! Great to know. I’m on 33” and 3” lift, Radflos, Deavers, should be fine then.
I got the rooms reserved. They are going to be $35 +tax and a $4.99 something or other local on top of tax, tax. Once I get the contract signed I will get the code everyone can use to call in with and reserve their own room. I'll send out privately the info you will need to book it in a few days. I'm getting pretty excited as we always have a lot of fun with this!I was just looking up rooms
I don't care which way we go, but I like the idea of everyone staying in Dale's room >:D

In looking at this, no stay in Laughlin the first night 1/16/19 start the trip on the 17th.so 3 nights camping ??
so 3 nights camping ??

1/16: Arrive at Laughlin at your own time
1/17: Depart on trail, camp in NYM
1/18: Depart NYM, camp in Beale
1/19:Depart Beale, camp in Afton
1/20: Depart Afton, end of trip
This sound correct?
I got the permit in my hot little hand. I'm starting to get excited about the trip!
I hate to do it but I have to. I'm dropping out. Work won't let me go. I took three weeks off to go to Australia to drive the Gibb last month and they're saying it's too soon to take more time off. Sad for me but good news for the next person on the waitlist. Enjoy.
B Lister.... Standing by!!!!!

Oh, I'm confirmed on this trip, lol. It was a little hit or miss there for a while.
