AAT - log your hours here
« on: June 15, 2016, 10:56:53 AM »
I realized that we don't have a thread to report Adopt-a-Trail hours to the people within SCCX responsible for collecting and reporting these hours to the USFS. Knightrider or Ghost65 - any chance of making this a sticky? By putting this out in public, maybe the bandwagon effect will help others to run the trail from time to time and report their hours. :)

It's probably also not a bad idea to have an overview/FAQ of the adopt-a-trail program created and added to the top of this section as a sticky. With all of the recent new members of SCCX, I'm sure some people would love to come out and participate, but don't know what the program is, or what they need to do, or where the road is, etc... I know I'd certainly benefit from something like that. :)

Celt and Motorpig77 - Please log 8 AAT hours for this past Friday, 6/10/16. The wife, son and I ran 2N02 from Pioneertown all the way up to the top. We picked up some trash and performed fresh recon on the Oldsmobile so we could provide an update to Sage Bromax before the AAT meeting tonight. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to check on the shooting areas because we were running out of time (and the upper one was occupied). Because we were already headed to Big Bear for the weekend, I'm only including 1 hour of travel time. We took the route through Pioneertown specifically to run 2N02, and it took us an hour longer than our normal route up the 330 would have. So, the breakdown:

1 hour of travel and 1 hour on the trail for me
1 hour of travel and 1 hour on the trail for my wife
2 hours of travel and 2 hours on the trail for my son (since kids' hours are double, right? Please correct this to 6 hours total if I'm wrong)

Does time at this AAT meeting count?

They had us sign in and put our time down on that sheet, so it may already be covered.  Just in case though, I had five hours.  Spectre and his wife live in Hemet and they said it was 1.25 hours of driving so that would put them at 4.5 hours each.

Celt - log me and Brady for 20 AAT hours for today's Oldsmobile operation. (10 hours each, including travel time to and from). It was actually more like 24 hours total, but I'm removing the 2 hours we spent exploring Viscera Springs. :)

Got it guys, thanks! I'll put in those hours. Anyone have the GPS by chance for the Olds so I can add that too?

Are you referring to its old location, or new location?

Current location (where we moved it to - ready for some scrap metal collecting tweaker to come pick it up): 34.233540, -116.644327 Google Maps Link
