ATT trail run March 2018
« on: February 26, 2018, 08:42:55 PM »
I am going to be up in big bear with friends on the 10th and have no problem running over to do the trail to check status. I won’t be able to do any actual trail clean up work that weekend.

If we have people interested in going this Sunday 3/4, I am open to going up there as well.

After this run, maybe we can schedule runs once every quarter for survey and arrange clean up if necessary.

Edwin let me know if you want to connect of figuring this part out.

Who is free this Sunday and want to hit some snow?

Thanks for stepping up with this. If it goes through let me know everyone's hours and miles so I can get them to the Rangers for the Federal funding. I'm not able to attend due to work commitments. Can you please cross post this in the SCCX Xcursion folder so it may get a little more publicity and traction for your efforts!

After seeing my schedule, it looks pretty free for me. Might take the fam with me if they feel pretty ballsy. After last time I was there, it was pretty rutty in certain sections.

Just make sure to put up all the details of the run to plan accordingly.

This is my first Techy BOD thing that I've done.  Hope I didn't erase the whole thread like that last guy ::)

Do you have a meeting time or place picked out for either weekend?
Are you on CB or ham radio by any chance?

I just want to throw it out there that the trail conditions are not going to be ideal for a clean-up day this weekend (3/3 and 3/4). It snowed like 10 inches up there overnight and this morning, and is supposed to snow again Thursday, Friday, and maybe even a little on Saturday morning. That second storm is supposed to dump even more snow than the first one did.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it'll be a very fun day of running trails, but I wouldn't expect to be hauling much trash out of there or really spending any time maintaining the trail, unless there are downed trees or something. Just FYI.

That totally makes sense.
Have you guys ever been up to lytle creek for snow runs? being that I've been away from the boards for so long I've lost touch with what people are familiar with and what they aren't.
Cold Water canyon can be a good one to run just for kicks after a big storm. I may post a run if the weather lines up nice with the calendar.

Due to forecast snow fall for tonight and tomorrow, I don’t think i will be able to evaluate the trail this Sunday. I will run the trail next weekend and report back to determine what needs work and coordinate with Edwin/Eric for an official trail day.

Steve, I don’t think SCCX has done a snow run this year. I personally haven’t don’t a snow run in 4 years up in B.B.

Sounds like this might be a good winter for snow runs, maybe Steeevo can plan one cause I personally have never been up to big bear for a snow run but it sounds like fun.

Just got back from the trail. No snow. Trail looks good. Shooting area needed a bit of cleaning. So one of two trasharoo will do it.
