Ive been working on a replacement roof rack system

Ill be running five lights up front and ill have room 6 fuel/water cans  plus other crap

I think you might want to use something a little heavier.  That steel looks a little on flimzy side. ;D

Do you plan on using that to carry a jeep off the trail?

I think it looks pretty sturdy.  Built my Gobi Hatch ladder with thinner square tube and still holding up strong.

Probably could have used a thinner walled square tubing but the round tubing is good. And I think the 1" tubing has a good look to it but if someone wants it smaller tubing I could always do that

I know its an incrediably crappy picture (Galaxy S4) and there is no Cali lift done to the Xterra. I recently took off the stock side steps for 2 reasons. The drivers side was bent back from getting snagged on ruts in WA State and I wanna use them as templates for DYI sliders. My father in law welds :)
