Post by: SteeevO on May 31, 2010, 11:21:29 PM
Running Cleghorn Tr. on June 19th. We'll meet at the trail head off the 15fwy and the Cleghorn Exit @ 8:30a. This is an Easy / Moderate trail with black diamond sections as options. Everyone is welcome. Bring a lunch!

I am sooo there!  This one is near my home too.  If the run ends to soon, we can also do another trail called "Sugar pine trail"" (? I think).  It's in one the California Trails books and its not from from where cleghorn trail ends.

Shouldn't this be posted in the Xcursion section where it was?

Why is Cleghorn closed?  Any chance it will re-open in time?  Anyone know about another local trail in the IE?

I'd be up for this depending on how things are with work that weekend (things are kinda crazy right now).  Even if some of the obstacles are closed, it's still a fun day with lots of great views.

Would be nice get the X dirty and meet some of you fine folk.

Ok, so we're meeting at the trailhead off the 15 at 8:30, right?  I know the club standard is to use FRS radios (just picked up a shiny new pair of those tonight) but was also wondering if anyone would be using CB/Ham on this run?  I'll probably be monitoring Keller Peak (KE6TZG) and Big Bear (K6BB) on my way to the trailhead if anyone wants to reach me--my call is K9AMI.  If there is a CB channel or Ham frequency folks want to use, just let me know.

I'll probably also be bringing at least one of my pups, most likely will bring my oldest as he's the most mellow.

Looking forward to meeting a few of you and getting a bit of dirt on the X :-)

The Run is still i'll on!  ;D
Although i didn't know about it until shortly after the e-mail for this run were sent out, I'm aware of the closures that are happening on cleghorn but no one that i know of has been up there since. So i figured we'd cruise through have what fun we can and continue onward through pilot rock and possibly willow creek to Devils Hole, time permitting.  It does look like quite a few of the cleghorn off-shoots have been closed but supposedly some of the fun stuff is still there. I don't have any details beyond that. This run should settle the curiosity floating around on the boards and also make for a easy day out with good company while matching faces with online screen-names. I figured this is a good way to kick off the summer wheeling season.

As for communications, I have both ham and CB in the pathfinder, I'll be on CB:22. Ham: 145.520 simplex my call is KF6WVM.

I'll see you guys off the 15fwy & cleghorn rd. exit at the trail head / under the overpass in the shade at 8:30a.
